Why does everyone hate the islands?

Why does everyone hate Mercer Island and Bainbridge Island. I know a lot of people on both teams and everyone is chill. Is it because they are one of the best every year? or is it because they won a lot of state championship?

I think this forum topic seems to have been squashed. Not many are admitting a hatred for the islands, but who knows have everyone REALLY feels!
No probs with the kids...
I have no probs with the kids, all good when we play. I think the coaches pass along their issues to their players. THen, people have opinions about coaches- not the players on our teams.

no beef with the islands here! I just like to see good lacrosse and that is mos definetly the islands, they know how play well. If people do have beef, it is proably just smack talkin, but I don't know anyone who really HATES them, nor should anyone.
As a Bainbridge player, I
As a Bainbridge player, I love the rivalry between the islands. It never gets personal though. The islands can play extremely hard against one another, and turn around after the game and pat each other on the back. The games are intense, sure, but each team keeps their cool, and that is what I love about the rivalry.
As for the other teams hating us... I really haven't seen much of it. I could just be ignorant though.

The reason there isnt ill will between the islands is a certain defender threw the perfect pass for the game winning goal to mahoney - and that defender did not play for mercer.

the bitterness of this rivalry died when the class of 06 left for college. now it's not much more than two top teams playing each other, though visco still brings some of that extra intensity to the game.

after leaving hs, it is easy to say that the hatred between schools. issy and MI and MI and bainbridge especially, is all just bs. looking back it is easy to see that its just stupid rivalry. personally, i know mason is a good guy and thinking that we had "beef" because of lax is stupid. guys still in high school - rivalry is good, but try and get to know your opponents because most lax players you will meet are cool guys and you shouldn't count them out because they play on a team that you play on the field.

I haven't heard any bad talk about Bainbridge Island to be honest with you, and I know a few people around the state.
I think my old team gets more crap talked about them then Bainbridge.
