This debate has become awefully heated. In my opinion, Masi doesn't even come close to being the athlete or student or person that Greg Mahoney is. He led MI to State this year with only 5 other returning varsity players and a BRAND NEW defence. Ya Masi is sick but, but he is not even close to Greg. He is maybe a little better than AJ, just cuz AJ is lazy. Mason Smith, get a life looser. You just wish you could grow up on Mercer Island.

The only thing you know about Dylan Masi is that he's 5'6" and consistently burns defenders that are 6'2" and have 60 lbs on him. Having played and gone to school with Dylan for three years, I actually know that he is an amazing player, a better student, and a great person. I don't know who is the 'better person' or lacrosse player, but you sure don't either. Your alias is FYBI for christsakes, that in itself tells me a lot about you. Why don't you muster up the courage to call people out and make outlandish, erroneous statements under your own name? By the way, Mason isn't a .... just because you don't agree with him, he just calls out spoiled little kids who feel the need to insult the character of players on other teams. I have plenty of respect for anybody from Mercer who can ball or is tight but you definitely don't fall into either of those categories. You're making Mercer look bad, along with d-middie and whoever else, just stop, you're embarassing yourself.

you know, i was having fun watching this little debate turned diss sess from afar until you posted this little gem here. way to really sink to the lowest level possible and try to attack somebody because of what their parents might be worth. and you go on to say that "if you suck it up and hit the books and maybe you can be rich too." thats a real tactful way of you declaring and bragging that you, yourself, are rich. and nothing is worse than a rich kid that brags about the money he did absolutely nothing to earn. then, haha, this part makes me laugh because the irony is JUST SO WONDERFUL here. all you mercer kids are talking about what great students all you are and FYBI cant even spell "loser" properly. i know this is a message board and all but they let you preview your comment for a reason. and props to forsyth for just using his name as his alias, that requires balls that i myself do not have.

I wasn't insulting AJ. It wasn't like I was making libelous statements, AJ really does suck. The only team that had more than one good defensemen this year was BI, and we all know the show that AJ put up against them...
And honestly, its really getting old having sophomores in high school call me out. So if in the future you feel like doing so, please be curteous and leave a name.

A.J. Ellis
Mason- How could he "suck" if he led the state in points for D-1? You can argue that he's not better than Mahony, Masi, etc, but you can't say he just flat out sucks when he starts on MI and leads the state in scoring.
I'll put it this way.
He is good at what he does, but what he does is not good. I admit, I am pretty perplexed that he somehow landed the point title, but when I look at him from a defensive stand point he doesn't have a very good left hand. His two moves are cutting up from X and getting high side for a shot, or a big face dodge inside. Both of those are pretty easy to defend against. I translate that to sucking.

not to trash on guys like you are but from what i watched i would say ellis had around 3-6 shots. he had zero assists? (notsure about that) but he did have some nice completed passes and maybe a groundball.

there is a difference between getting good grades and being smart. School takes organization and effort but you can extremely dumb and still get good grades look around you everyone knows a kid who gets 4.0 but wouldnt make it 10 seconds on their own away from their parents.

Mahony
Mahony by far and away. An outstanding citizen, takes his education seriously, keeps his nose clean, and most importantly (at least in regard to the forum topic) An amazing athlete, definetly one of the top two athletes in the state. Only other competition is Brian Gilbreath, a breakdown defender and freakish athlete (I personally think he was a little better in terms of athleticism). However, Mahony had more weight on his shoulders and still lead MI to their seventh consecutive state championship, and played close with Bainbridge at state, Bainbridge was obviously a deeper team. Mahony, other competition doesnt even come close to this kid
