Bellevue vs Curtis Game Recap

Features

Out of nowhere, Curtis leads 2-0 after only a minute and five seconds of play in the game.  Coming off the face-off, Curtis puts two goals together from fast breaks, and Bellevue is wondering what happened.  There was stunned silence among the Bellevue fans while the Curtis parents went nuts.

Kinetic Chain Breakdowns (Injury)

This weeks article will contain the basis of everything we will discuss in the next year. I would suggest reading it more than once so that you understand the concepts VERY WELL. Even if it is hard to understand at first keep reading this will all make sense in the end. The first step in avoiding injuries is assessing where they come from. A good percentage of the time injuries do not just occur by chance, instead they are the result of years and years of bad workouts and neglect.

Skyline vs. Eastlake Game Recap

Skyline and Eastake are caught in a scoreless battle changing possession every few minutes in the first quarter. Murphy has had several shots but nothing sinking. Both Tao and La Belle are making some great saves on the bounce shots hitting both sides. With 5 minutes left in the first half, Eastlake is pressing with several shots. Skyline has had several good shot opportunities, either dropping feeds on the crease or being saved by Tao.

RECAPS

5/6 – 5/7

This weekend saw a full slate of action with all 7 teams playing as the season winds down and the playoff picture starts to look clearer.

On Saturday Tentawon made the trip south to play Multnomah who had won their last 3 games. Nomah jumped on Tentawon quick with early goals from Dave Holler and Rob Huber. Multnomah was able to push their lead to 4 before Tentawon was able to make this interesting before the half scoring 2 quick goals ending the half at 6-3.

Unfortunately for Tentawon, the Nomah Defense tightened things up and shut out Tentawon in the second half. Nomah saw scoring from 5 different players and walked away with a 9-3 victory for their 4th in a row.

Coopers traveled way south to play Eugene for their final trip south. Despite Eugene having good numbers, they didn’t have the experience to hang with Coopers who put a beatdown on Eugene.

Huron played Crease Monkeys on Saturday and were looking for their 10 win and trying to keep their record perfect. However, Monkeys had different plans and pulled out a HUGE win beating Huron 5-4.

This game could be a preview of this years championship game and if it is, it could be a great game. Huron now has to recover and travel to Portland next weekend to play a Multnomah game who has won 5 straight.

Sunday saw Coopers at Multnomah on a very raining and cold day. Nomah took a quick lead and never gave it up beating Coopers for the first time since 1991.

This was a close game to the end and both teams played very hard. Nomah had 4 players with 2 goals and saw great play from the defense and keeper Kyle Mecham.

The last game of the weekend was between Bigfoot and Eugene down in Eugene. The nutria were able to score 4 goals on Foot but that would not be enough to get the victory over Bigfoot. Foot improved their record to 5-6 and looks forward to a weekend off before facing rival Multnomah on the 20th.

Bainbridge Island vs. Mercer Island Game Recap

Features

Another powerhouse rivalry between the two Islands. Despite MI's record this year, and the unabashed ability of Bainbridge's Varsity, this is always a battle to watch.

Islanders win possession with Howell on the face off.  He moves the ball up and on a Kaminsky shot, turns the ball over on the shot. Bainbridge takes possession, and begins pressing the ball with a pair of good shots by Knight and Fiore.

Skyline vs. Overlake Game Recap

Features

First half of the game here between Overlake and Skyline is a defensive battle. Lots of transition and most ball possession by Skyline, it's surprising the score is just 2-1. Skyline gets on the board first with a score by Calvin Wiley 8:41 into the game unassisted. Overlake answers back with a score by Dolak unassisted. Skyline has maintained possession for almost 19 minutes, and fired 18 shots, but hasn't been able to score more than their 1 so far.

Into the second quarter, Tacoma is up 2-0 and registers a slash followed by another and a technical giving Puyallup a three man-up opportunity as they get a shot off.
