The First Annual Northwest Lacrosse Invitational April 21-22nd

The Bellevue and Mercer Island lacrosse programs are proud to announce the First Annual Northwest Lacrosse Invitational, being held Friday, April 21st and 22nd at Mercer Island High School.  This event will showcase three defending state champions; Cape Elizabeth of Maine, Lakeridge of Oregon, and Mercer Island of Washington. Issaquah and Bellevue, two strong programs in 2006, will also participate in the event along with J.V. and senior youth “A” division match-ups.

Advance ticket sales are available HERE.  All proceeds go towards the travel expenses of the traveling teams.

Cape Elizabeth, a perennial east coast powerhouse, will be the first east coast team to travel to Washington to play some of our states top lacrosse programs. “This is a first for Washington state lacrosse and we hope to make it a tradition, and bring an east coast team to the northwest each year” said John Baumann, head varsity coach for Bellevue high school.

Friday night, April 21st, Mercer Island will play Cape Elizabeth at 8pm. Saturday, April 22nd, the 2005 Oregon state champions (Lakeridge High School) will play the 2005 Washington state champions (Mercer Island High School) for Northwest bragging rights. Bellevue, an up and coming program, and Issaquah the 2005 state runner-up will also play Cape Elizabeth (2:00pm & 8:00pm) at Mercer Island Stadium on Saturday. Along with varsity and junior varsity contests, there will be a high level youth lacrosse match-up between Mercer Island Black and Bellevue Gold early on Saturday afternoon.

Tickets for this event will be $5 dollars at the gate (one ticket will work for both days). Kids under 12 will be free. Food, event t-shirts, and local lacrosse sponsors will also be at this event. Come support and cheer on our growing lacrosse community. This will be a great opportunity to see some of the highest level lacrosse being played in the Northwest.
