Sammammish 3 v 3 Tourney Recap

the first annual Sammamish Shootout 3-on-3 lacrosse tournament went off without a hitch on July 3rd.  This tourney used a new tournament format for Washington.  Open to all comers grades 5-12, games are much shorter, and very exciting.  Scoring on a small marker on the field is much different than a 6' by 6' goal, and proved a great change of pace during this endless Lacrosse summer.  Think of 3 on 3 Lacrosse using "Chumash" Rules on a small field as "LACROSSE IN A BLENDER".

Highlighted by fabulous weather, enthusiastic laxers as well as a host of supportive parents and tourney volunteers, the inaugural event was a blast for those that participated.  Teams brought players from all over including players from Bellevue, Queen Anne, and Eastside as well as hosts Skyline and Issaquah.

Winners of each division:
9/10th: "Razor Clams" topped runner-up Skyline "Hurricanes" in the finals
7/8th: Issaquah "Fighting Penguins" edged runner-up Bellevue "Wolverines"
5/6th: Issaquah "Little Giants" (a team of all 3rd and 4th graders) outshot the Issaquah "PBRUN" team for the Championship. Look out for these Little Giants in 2014!
