Predictions for Champion in D1 (next year)

I never think it is to early to predict who will come on top next year.
My predictions are kind the same as this years final four, but i think bellevue will be in the final four over garfield
My predictions are for the final four
Bainbridge
Mercer
Issaquah
Bellevue
For the chamionship game I will then say it will be
Bellevue vs. Bainbridge
I dont think Issaquah and Mercer can't make the finals again this coming up season.
Even though that will make a very good game once again.
Then in the champion ship game Bainbridge will then come out on top over Bellevue.

If you have a good coach you
If you have a good coach you will win lots of games even if you dont have all-americans. Mercer has good coaches at every level of play so, i hate to say this, but mercer will always be a good team for the next 10 years in washington state lacrosse.

Sorry, but if you look beyond that 8th grade team that MI had this year the rest of their youth teams at all levels are average at best. Also, the situation at BI is even worse. Looking at the whole organization, Bellevue is on the rise.

We'll never be short of talented athletes. Mercer Island is a breeding ground for lacrosse players. Do you not see all the little rugrats on our field during half-time? Rugrats today, Kevin Mahonys tomorrow. MI is the inevitable dynasty.
P.S. Be prepared. The Mahony family (franchise?) has like 10 more kids yet to play sports at the high school.

Thats what a lot of people said last year when MI graduated an all-american (Chris Taylor, who by the way is a starting freshman at georgetown) and york, and symington etc. But oh look, they still won this year...

He's a D-middie, idiot! not too many opportunities to score when you're a defensive specialist. To be in a program as prestigious as G-town and contributing is all that needs to be said. I suppose you don't think Whitsitt is any good either because he doesn't have any points for Harvard (another DI program).

MI will win again against bainbridge in the final 5-4. Issy and bellebue will make the final four but will be taken out by the MI And Bainbridge teams.
I don't know but i think that MI is going to reign WA LAX for a Long time (:

I hate Bainbridge, but I hate Mercer more. How can any believe mercer will have a chance against a defense like Bain's. Last year they were all sophmores, now that they're even more experienced, Mercer will not stand a chance with they're second tier attack. And Masi is still their who will only be better than last year

I think your opinions are funny. I can only think of one player that MI will have next year. Greg Mahony. But hes one player can easily be shut off unlike years before with Greg AND Kevin, MI will make the playoffs, barely, then fall, and the year after that, MI will be even worse without their Mahony Messiahs.

i can think of like 10 players MI will have next year. ie: Wettack, Dawson, Frankel, the afformentioned Mahony, and many many good JV players like Choe and Franklin etc.
ps. there's two more mahony boys so the franchise family isnt finished yet.

i bet you didnt make varsity freshman year
excluding some prodigys such as Kev Mahony, hardly anyone makes varsity thier freshman year. My point being all good teams have a good JV and virtually everyone goes through some lower team in the program.

I was at the championship and all i saw was Dawson scoring once on his own. All his other goals were kevin dodging and feeding Dawson on the crease. Plus, I saw him drop 2 or 3 passes on the crease. What he did was not extroidinary, anybody from any team could have done the same thing.

Again, that's what people said last year when we lost an all american and a superb goalie and many others like york and wickizer and sandman etc but oh wait, we still won it this year.

i think bainbridge will win
i think bainbridge will win next year, and definently the year after as well. They have had a young team the last couple of years - In the past 2 years, they have only lost a couple of signifigant players ( 5 seniors that contributed in '05, and 2 or 3 that contributed this year in 06). BI will be a well rounded team the next two years - they just need to not falter in the playoffs like the past two years.

more like 4 players last year, cause bludorn couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, and 3.5 this year, because donk was basically benched the second half of the season.

Bainbridge by a Landslide
Bainbridge will obviously win state next year. Im pretty sure they only graduate a few guys and tehy almost went undefeated this year with a squad primarily of juniors. It'd be nice if a new team won though...with that said, Dejon Hush and Jack Visco could sell a ketchup Popsicle to a woman in white gloves. Anybody know where thats from?

bainbridge only had 3 juniors who contributed, masi, gilbreath, buttons (knight). they had mostly sophmores. and as jack seemed to have phased the seniors out of his plans late in the season, there were only three who played regularly at the end of the year, one who was a defensive middie (colgrove) and then delius and forsyth.

I think Bellevue needs to make the playoffs first, then we can talk final four. Of course, they do have the good ol boys on their side, so a twisted new playoff system that gives them byes in every round till the final four wouldn't be a surpise

I seriously doubt that Bellevue has a better chance at making the final 4 than Garfield.

I don't even like Bellevue and they will most definitely be a forced to be reckoned with... they have so much depth and a very strong defense

Bellevue is on the rise
Their JV goalie is more athletic than SS. Look forward to great things at goalie from Bellevue in the next few years. Also, if you look at the youth teams, after that 8th grade team that MI had this year, the rest of their youth teams are average at best. The situation at BI is even worse. Bellevue is on the rise.

what about curtis? im not sure how many players they graduate and what not, but im pretty sure they are a young team. Id like to think mercer would have a down year next year since they return only 8 players, but they always seem to find a way to win.
Im not sure who will make the final 4 though. BI and Bellevue for sure, but after that i dont know. A lot of other teams lost a lot of key pieces . . .

yes curtis has tons of young players. I dont think they will win the championship next year; however, the year after that, im almost 100% sure they will win.
I think mercer has a great
I think mercer has a great chance of winning the cup (for the fourth time). there's going to be lots of talent from next year's seniors and juniors who were on varsity last year, as well as the great talent coming up from the powerful JV team. Losing Kevin Mahony isnt going to affect the Mercer Island Lacrosse team's fourth state title. Watch Out.
