MI FANS

Boy's Leagues

If you think mi fans suck they do. they are rude and crude. However MI as a team is good they are good and i would consider them as a dynasty but the fans are rude if you were at the championship game you could see them being so rude to the issaquah fans which i think is so rude.

MI Fans

The MI fans are just like any good sports fans, loud, supportive and obnoxious. At football/ basketball games in college it is worse, so dont complain about it. Maybe that helps MI win when they have fans who cheer and yell and other teams should take a hint. Like when they bussed over 2 loads of fans to the playoff game against bainbridge and happened to win for the first time EVER on bainbridge island. Even at the championship game against issaquah they were louder, both cheers and taunts. MI is lax island.

not rude

MI isnt rude they are just annoying they are fans they are supposed to do that .... but i do find it annoying when fans talk crap cuz that only makes the players look bad when they are good people like the old guy said "put on a jersey and learn it"

If they are not rude...

... Why would the Athletic Director Lacrosse Director have to be there to keep the students under control? Why does there need to be an announcement reminding the students to be respectful? Seems to me he would not have to do these things there if the MI students could be civil. And call me old fashioned, but when students attack other fans in the parking lot after a game that is rude. What I witnessed at one game could only be described as Assault. The actions were completely inappropriate and certainly unbecoming of any young person.
My observation is that those students did nothing during or after the game to help their team.

Students: If you want bragging rights put on a uniform and learn to play the game. Even then you will not be able to match Kevin or Greg Mahoney or some of the other fine players to come from MI. Otherwise sit there and shut up because you are affecting my enjoyment.

Parents: These are your kids and you are responsible for them and their actions. As a parent myself, I am well aware that it is far easier to be their friend instead of their parent but you have to resist the temptation. It is time for you to nip this before somebody gets hurt.

Let it Be

The actions of one or two overly-rowdy students cannot define and label the school as a whole. Many people feel uncomfortable chanting inapropriate cheers, and heckling. In fact, it is usually one or two people. That doesnt mean that as a group, we cant be spirited and excited for our (great) team.

High School students are old enough and responsible enough to face the concequences of thier own actions and realize that what they do affects other people. Its not the parent's duty to keep thier kids in line.

Many people know how to play the game and are plenty good. You dont get 'bragging rights' only if you're an all-american caliber player, its called pride in your school and team. ANYONE can have that. Are you saying girls, or middle schoolers, or parents cant cheer loudly in support unless they're as good as a Mahony? That is completely ridiculous. School spirit and pride is part of the whole high school experience. Stop being bitter.

WOW...

Are you STUPID...or did you just grow up being a freaking outcast. I dunno if your school had it (obviously didnt cuz this dude's against it...) but there's something called SCHOOL SPIRIT. The crowd is supposed to be loud. That's why homefield advantages are so advantageous. The field and the crowd are on the home's side. Soo stop being stupid like telling all the kids to shut up cuz they won't and if you want to enjoy a sport with some quietness go watch golf or something.

OK

There's a fine line between being loud and being rude. MI isn't rude..they're loud. We never degraded the other team's croud before. Everything we say happens on the field. I admit...we might chant about a bad call from the ref, but who doesnt do that? Its all spirit and obviously excluding MI and BI no other school seems to lack that spirit.

M.I. Fans

My son plays for Bainbridge. His observations were that the Mercer players on the field were a class act, but that the MI fans were rude and obnoxious. The latter observation coincides with my own at the playoff game, although I was embarrassed for our team to hear "FYMI" coming from some of Bainbridge's fans. I would also observe that the only game all year that I am aware of that required the presence of police was the MI/BI playoff game. I understand that this was because of harassment of Bainbridge fans at the earlier Mercer game and some vehicular damage. This kind of reception was in sad contrast to Lakeside, where I was greeted by one of the teachers with a genuine "Welcome to Lakeside."

My hope for next season is that the play on the field does the talking, that the fans yell their heads off in support of their respective teams, and that all the trash-talking and chest-thumping gets left at home. This game is too good to be tarnished by such juvenile behavior.

stop the crying

we have already heard your rants on mi and issy fans. this topic itself is "rude" to walax and everyone that has the misfortune of reading it. basically your creating a place to talk crap about other teams and their fans.

please grow up and keep your whines to yourself

p.s. a more constructive topic would be something along the lines of : How can lacrosse fans be more supportive to their team withough being seen as "rude" ?

Streaker

Okay MI fans and issaquah fans are hilarious. Lets just end it there... but does anyone want to tell me what the hell happened with that streaker at the Bellevue vs MI game a coupla months ago?

streaker

the streaker supposedly ran by someone that later identified him to the police. he is now a registered level 3 sex offender.. lol

how can you say MI fans are

how can you say MI fans are rude. They were just having fun because there team is in the championship. Also they are not rude compared to fans at a high school football game.

Shirts?

just putting this out but some mi girls had shirts that said fyi, and that didnt stand for 'for your information'

Spirited is not rude

First of all, I would like you to cite all situations and or events in which Mercer was being rude, otherwise your insensitive allegations have virtually no substantial credibility.MI never once said anything mean to the fans at the state game. Chanting "scoreboard" is simply reminding any slow freshman to check the score and cheer louder for our winning team. If issy wants to interpret hearty, spirited gusto as crudeness, than Issy needs to get its mind out of the gutter.

ps. M-M-M-E-R! C-C-C-E-R!...

MI fans

Rude? how can you call the mercer fans rude. i am not affiliated with eiter MI or Issy, but between the two it seems as though mercer has a much better fan base. all i ever saw was them screaming thier lungs out rooting on the islanders throughout the entire 4 quarters of play. the issaquah fans however i know have been rude to other fans more so than any other crowd i've been at. i was impressed at the non-fairweather fan support that MI had. its glad to see that the sport is so appreciated at some schools.

Mercer Fans

Mercer Island is alot closer to Seattle than Issaquah, I think that had alot to do with it

hm

Distance is a meek excuse to not support your team

A lot?

Plus I wouldn't call under 10 minutes that much of a distance difference.

Stop Whining

I was at the both the MS and D1 championship games and saw nothing of the sort.

I am not affiliated with either team in those games.

This just sounds like sour grapes whining.

yeah...

You win the award for saying rude the most times in one sentence. Our fans are just supportive. That's part of the reason we did so well in the playoffs, the huge fan support. Your probably just insecure becuase the fans for whatever team you play for don't come out to your games. Stop comlaining about it. I hope im not being rude...

no, its ok, if i was a loser

no, its ok, if i was a loser i would be pissed to.
