Lake Sammamish Clinic a Huge Success

The weather held perfectly for the beginner and intermediate clinic put on by the Lake Sammamish Lacrosse Club last Sunday at Marymoor Park in Redmond.  Forty-six new and returning players turned out from all around the Seattle area, making this clinic a huge success!  The girls broke into four groups by experience and age, with each group led by an Eastside area coach and assisted by Lake Sammamish Players.  The coaches must abide by out-of-season 'no contact' rules, so each had the opportunity to work with an age group outside of their normal coaching position.

After a brief warm-up led by Lake Sammamish players, the girls broke into groups for a few hours of instructional time suited to their level.  A true highlight for many of the girls occured as the clinic culminated with an opportunity for the girls to put their learning into action.  Both the beginner group and the intermediate group took to the field for a scrimmage.  Everyone present was impressed by the amazing advancement the beginner group had in under three hours.  The intermediate scrimmage was just as remarkable as the girls pulled together to take their lacrosse skills up a notch.

As the girls and parents were leaving, many were enthusiastically asking "When is the next clinic?"  While Lake Sammamish Lacrosse Club currently does not have another clinic scheduled, check out Walax for Fall and Winter lacrosse opportunities, and stay tuned for information on the Washington Schoolgirls League clinic on February 26th.
