Division I 2007 Playoff Brackets
Submitted by walax on Fri, 2007-05-04 07:09.
As the final games of the season winds down, Wednesday's game between Issaquah and Bellevue helped finalize some of the last questions in Division I. Here is what we have for predicted finish, some of tonight's games will also weigh in on this. Though this may be expected results, suprises always happen, so stay posted! and let us know what you think!
-
BI (undefeated solely in first place)
-
MI (only loss is Bainbridge)
-
Bellevue (depending on Eastlake Friday)
-
*Garfield10-4/9-5 depending on MV game Saturday
-
*Issaquah 10-4/9-5 depending on Skyline
-
Vashon 8-6 /9-5 depending on MV game
-
***MV 7-5 depends on Garfield and Vashon (could be 7-7 loss to curtis /beat skyline)
-
***Skyline8-6/7-7 depending on Issy game Sat (beat Curtis head to head)
-
***Curtis 7-7 (beat MV head to head)
*Garfield beat Issaquah at and will own the tie-breaker if both teams go 10-4. Both have lost to Bellevue.
*** three-team tie breaker will come down to goal differential between the teams involved. All three teams potentially with 7-7 records look like this for the last two spots. Maple Valley would lose to Garfield and Vashon, Skyline would lose to Issy and Mercer Island, and Curtis would beat Eastside and lose to Bainbridge.
Maple Valley GD between Skyline=+4
Maple Valley GD between Curtis =-1 total GD=+3
Skyline GD between MV = -4
Skyline GD between Curtis =+4 total GD = 0
Curtis GD between MV =-4
Curtis GD between Skyline =-4 total GD=-8
Predicted Quarter finals
BI vs. Skyline (Bainbridge HS)
MI vs. MV (Mercer Island HS)
Bellevue vs. Vashon (Bellevue HS)
Garfield vs. Issaquah (Garfield Home Field)
Playoffs Update
In order to make sure a three-way tie-breaker doesn't keep a team out of the playoffs, depending on the Maple Valley game this week, a three-way mini-playoff of 20 minutes will take place next Tuesday to decide which two of the three will be in the playoffs. Point differential is reserved only for seeding purposes, not for excluding teams from playoffs.
Where is Eastlake?
One very interesting tidbit- Eastlake is 6-7 right now, after their forfeit loss to Maple Valley. If this loss is appealed and is successful, and they win out, Eastlake owns the tie-breaker against Skyline, and lost to Curtis by one. So, the game between Eastlake and Maple Valley will decide the last two playoff spots.
Anything is possible
top 2 seeds definetly look like they'll make the championships but who knows.
I just hope MI doesn't win it this year.
Hmmm
Looks like a battle of the islands for the final unless one of 'also rans' can pull out something special. Anyone think Bellevue, Vashon, Garfield or Issy really have what it takes this year to top MI or BI in the Semi's?
Bellvue?
Bellvue did come from behind to beat issaquah and handed skyline their lunch...They could maybe top MI...
vashon??
vashon beat bellevue in the regular season.
could the rematch hold the same result?
