Best Home Field Advantage?

Boy's Leagues

Who has the best home field advantage? Vashon?

Best home field or Home field advantage?

As far as best field, MI has a great stadium and good turf, always a good crown too.

Bainbridge has the best stadium though. With the olympics to the west and seattle and the cascades on the east. A clear spring evening at Memorial Stadium is the best place to play/watch lacrosse in the NW.

field

yea, i think in terms of field quality MI has the field turf. but if your in the stands on a sunny afternoon its hell. your always looking directly into the sun. also the name of the stadium "jungle" is hard to understand b/c mercer is so populated. i never got that. BI does have the best venue, you cant beat a 7 o'clock game on a sunny day there. you get to see the lights of Seattle and the water on one end, and the sunset over the Olympics. its gorgeous. also the stadium has a roof for the stands-always good in the pacific NW. a good turnout at BI is always there too, the school loves its lacrosse team, and the students support it well. They always have a barbecue going to, nobody cant beat that. at the end of the game, the visiting team always gets free burgers first, then the home team. good hospitality. BI is far and away the best place for watching and playing the game

The JUNGLE

"also the name of the stadium "jungle" is hard to understand b/c mercer is so populated. i never got that." -google

The reason why Mercer Island High School dubbed their field the "jungle" is because at the time, it was one of the only high schools left in Kingco (our school division) to have a grass field.

I second BI, nice field,

I second BI, nice field, good crowd, good barbeque, just an all around nice place.

well put...

well put...

overlake for highschool is

overlake for highschool is the best playing surface field turf perma lax lines and no football lines. I hear UW has a really nice place in Dempsey looking forward to playing them there next year they came out to spokane this year.

Mercer Island

When you play at mercer, you think about it all day. For a number of years, the championhsips were played there and since then the atmosphere has been incredible. Overlake may have a nice field but there isn't the environment to back it up because Overlake is mediocre. BI is also a very fun place to play at because of the ferry ride. Theres a level of commradery amongst team mates that you don't get to experience at an ordinary field. Will say that it is a very long ferry ride home if you lose... I would give the upperhand to Mercer Island just for the fact that their lines are painted into the field turf and they have fans that everyone hates, making the game almost always rowdy.

issy and Starz?

You're 'titles' down at the bottom lead me to an interesting question. You coach Issaquah and Starz, I am well aware of the fact that there are Issaquah players on Starz.(Yapp, Goodman, Goldstine). And would like to remind everyone that one cannot coach a player of their high school team out of their season. As "president of WA state lax" you obviously allready know what i've told you. Starz takes place outside the regular season. SO, Mr. Randolph, perhaps you have some explaining to do.

First off I played for both

First off I played for both Issaquah and Starz in 2005. I didn't coach. Secondly, I am president of Washington state UNIVERSITY lacrosse club.

ok

perhaps your credentials are a bit deceptive?
anyway, my apologies, i'm a bit paranoid about that rule about coaching, especially with starz because i got burned by it.

Wrong Poll

Yes, but quite clearly this poll is about the nicest field, novice. The environment has nothing to do with this. Overlake has the nicest field, hands down or up, novice.

are you joking

Haha before you call someone a novice you should check to see you aren't just embarrassing yourself. And I don't think I would say Overlake has the nicest field hands down either. They can't get a very large crowd without having to have people just stand, there's something about a stadium to get a game intense...novice.

No Water

There is also no water at the field and Ovlk doesn't provide it to opponents. You have to hike up to campus. People literally have had to buy water (faucet use) from a neighbor.

Which is why it may be a candidate for "Best Home Field Advantage" - usually meaning advantage over an opponent - not the "nicest" field.

actually...

take a look at the description for this forum. "who has the best home field ADVANTAGE" seems to me this would mean environment as well.

Novice

If a place is fun to play AT then it is not really home field advantage. Overlake has the nicest field I've ever played on, and the turf plus grass is nice. The advanatge is pretty excusable because the title is just best home field and thats what mostly everyone is talking about.

the title says it all

exactly, everybody talks about best field. home field advantage is a whole different story. maybe somebody should make a "best home field advantage" page. in terms of best home field, it is definitely overlake. and about the wsu lacrosse president, lacrosse isn't even listed as a sport on the wsu men's sports list. in any case, overlake wins.

Last time i checked Wazzu

Last time i checked Wazzu lacrosse has been around since the 1980's. How long as Overlake been around let alone how long has it been since you guys have been competitive? Yeah that was a long time ago....

It's a club sport, which

It's a club sport, which will be reinstated into the PNCLL next season.

Heres the link.

Before you go out of line speaking nonsense, maybe you should do your homework.

you're not my mother

you're not my mother, please do not tell me to do my homework. I do not approve of your officious and belittleing attitude.

club sports

yes, i figured there is a club for lacrosse right up with broomhockey. overlake lacrosse has been around for a long time, and almost beat bainbridge in the championship game in the late 1990s or early 2000s, losing by 1. so overlake was competitive. last year was bad, seeing as we lost to whatcom (bs) in the playoffs. this year nobody knows

Hang on you lost to a first

Hang on you lost to a first year team last year? I thought you guys were around for years? Shame you couldnt keep the momentum and stay in A division like what Maple Valley and Lakeside have done all these years...

But why would you ever rag on someone thats trying to grow the sport? If anything i would be congratulaing Jake for taking such a needed step for the spread of lacrosse around Washington.

except...

first. jake is a douchebag.
second. overlake beat whatcom 15-5 this year
thrid. overlake just beat tacoma, and is in the final four

First. overlake has been

First. overlake has been around since the 90's... I think this should be expected of a team that supposedly almost beat BI. Second. If your going to continue talking smack about someone i think you should at least state your REAL name... Its real easy to belittle someone behind a fake alius.. I would love to see Jake or anyone else for that matter target you in summer league.

Turn-out

At Overlake about 33 people tried out for lacrosse. I'm curious how that ranks around other schools. I'm not trying to make excuses, not that i need to, im just wondering.

alskfj

i just wanted to see how small the box thing would be after i replied

The ONLY thing nobody knows...

The ONLY thing nobody knows is what you're smoking. The two things that everybody knows is that Whatcom won't be there to beat Overlake this year, but Tacoma will. And, that nice field of yours? After tomorrow, the Overlake Girls Broom Hockey team will repaint the stripes, because you'll be done.

Novice

Looks like the girls broom hockey team will have to wait.

NOVICE

hahahaha yeah. those girls are gunna have to wait. looks like overlake just pooed on your field. so ya, overlake now has the best field.

I dont know about anyone

I dont know about anyone else... but i usually feed off of a crowd that hates me. I know that Tierney knows what im talking about.

I think Mercer island has

I think Mercer island has the best stadium because the turf is amazing, it has a fat MI logo in the middle, MI wins on it...and the concession stand food is pretty good (never ate the bainbridge burgers, i was afraid they would spit in it). Also the fans are roudy, obnoxious, and drunkedly loud. The best lacrosse games go down at the MI Jungle.
(never ate the bainbridge burgers, i was afraid they would spit in it)
How in mature can you get? Just cause you are from Mercer doesn't mean that they are going to spit in your burger. Parents work the grill not the kids.

thats not actually why i

thats not actually why i dont eat the burgers...i usually dont have an appitite after stomping on teams. thanks for letting me know i shouldnt buy the burgers from any kids...good advice!

Pretty sure

Pretty sure winning by 1 goal is considered a stomping.
