What is your prediction for next year? (Rank)

Boy's Leagues

Here's my prediction:

1. Bainbridge Island
2. Issaquah
3. Mercer Island
4. Garfield
5. Bellevue
6. Curtis
7. Seattle Prep
8. Vashon
9. Maple Valley
10. Eastside
11. Lakeside
12. Roughriders
13. Nathan Hale

Anyone objects?

My thoughts

This comment is only regarding the top 3.

1. Mercer Island
2. Bainbridge
3. Issaquah

No one should have objections to my placing of Issy. They lost their whole defence, and their goalie. They don't even have a so-so goalie to fill in in the cage. Bainbridge only lost a couple good players, so they will be hard to beat. In the end it will be a close one for shure.

Kinda

thats true about issaquah, but they still have a solid line of junior offensive players. Mercer island lost a huge amount of players; offensively and defensively, just as many as issaquah.

1. Bainbridge
2. Issaquah
3. Mercer Island
4. Garfield

I think it will be another year where the top 4 teams will be relatively even and can easily compete for the top spot.

yes, but...

Both teams lost a fair amount of good players, but MI has a solid goalie stepping into the cage, one of the best in the league. Issaquah has no one.

I'm with you on the ranking

I'm with you on the ranking but MI didn't lose a large amount of offensive players. Sure a lot of MI seniors were on varsity..but none of them really played. The only offensive player MI really lost is Kevin Mahoney. But you're right about losing their whole defense. They'll have to step it up if they are gonna go for state.

they keep dawson, ellis, and

they keep dawson, ellis, and gregory on attack, but I'm pretty sure he will be playing midfield this year. So they'll have Frankel or Wright in there probably.. Dawson, essentially all left last year, ellis, essentially all right last year, so I guess they compliment each other, and well, I don't have much to say for their other two.

They obviously lose big mahony, also kaminski, and christensen. They were all solid midfielders for them. So they have some big holes to fill in that front.. but I imagine Greg will be good for a solid 1st line regardless of who his teamates are.

Their defense is decimated, all their decent defensemen are gone. Even back ups.. so I have no idea who will play for them, but I think I saw the "all american" wettack with a pole in his hand this summer. Bowen is obviously very talented.

So I think as you can see on paper... Bainbridge, Issaquah, and then Mercer Island. Until any games are played, you can't determine who is going to want it more..

t1 - BI & Issy3 - MII

t1 - BI & Issy
3 - MI
I think that issaqauh will be tough, Defense might be an issue

pretty dang good if you ask me

the only objection that i might make is for Vashon to be ahead of seattle prep. I dont know how well prep will do without their three stud players. Also, how many varsity players will bellevue be returning? anyone know?

Thats Fair. Here is mine

1. Bainbridge
2. Issaquah
3. MI
4. Bellevue
5. Curtis
6. Eastlake
7. Garfield
8. Vashon
9. Prep
10. Skyline
11. Maple Valey
12. Lakeside

I believe Nathan Hale is moving down.. and Eastside might disolve, or go down as well. So I'm waiting for October before I throw them into the mix.

pretty much the same, here's mine

that looks pretty good. mine would be about the same, except with issaquah as 1, MI as 2, and Bainbridge as 3.

haha

haha, i hear you, but don't let bais cloud your judgement. Jack and Dejion have a solid lineup coming back.

haha

we'll see, BI had the most talented team last year too, and look what happened. if issaquah can get over there losses on the d-side (i.e. garret, you mason, and gerrard) they should have a good shot at winning it. look for BI's defense to mature, and masi and gilbreath (brian, dayton hasn't dominated anyone yet) to carry the team, but they have a big hole in the middle of jacks crease offense, and are going to miss delius in the clutch as well as other experienced players on the offensive side of the ball that have played in the big games. the group of players now have not been part of a bainbridge HS championship, but look for them to return the tradition if they can keep it together for a whole season.
