Stanwood vs. Franklin - Game Recap

Stanwood faces Franklin on a day made for Lacrosse. Franklin answer JR De Roulx leads his team and total points, Stanwood will have to provide an answer. JR with five shots and a goal in the first quarter. 10 shots from Franklin and four by Stanwood. Ground balls seem even with 12 GBs for Stanwood and 14 for Franklin.

Franklin has been driving hard to the cage, and taking shots from up top. Po, JR and miller all tallied goals, the score after one is Franklin 3, Stanwood 0.

Franklin gets possession to start the second, running a 3-2-1 and dodging from up top to feed a wing. Miller dodges several in transition, and shoots on the doorstep scoring number four with 8:37 left in the second quarter. Stanwood is having a difficult time clearing but takes one from Franklin and settles the ball but can't keep possession. Franklin clears it and works through the wheel for another score from Po. Franklin leads 5-0.

Stanwood makes a stand, but cannot convert and turns over to Franklin who seem to be shooting at will from a close distance.

Franklin literally shovels one from the crease flipping a sandstorm into Jackson's helmet forcing a time-out to discuss the goal- after further review the goal does not stand.

With 1:36 left in the first half, Franklin holds off a drive from Stanwood until halftime with Franklin leading 5-0. At the end of the first, Franklin has 18 shots to Stanwood's 6. Stanwood needs to possess the ball to score. Most of the first half kept the ball in a Quaker's stick.

Franklin starts off driving the cage from behind on Stanwood in man-up with JR scoring on a feed making the score 6-0. Moments later, Franklin' De Roulx scores again off of a pick.

Franklin wins the face and attacks th cage off of a pick adding another to JR's total.

Travis feeds Po for another goal and the game is becoming an offensive contest with Franklin up 9-0. JR DeRoulx rings a nice top corner making it 10-0 with five minutes left in the third.

Stanwood rallies with a flurry of ground ball activity and gets a 1 minute man-up opportunity. Stanwood turns the ball over, killing the man-up and resulting in another JR score making it 11-0 Franklin near the end of the third.

After three, Franklin and JR are dominating 11-0 with 5 goals and 2 assists for JR. Po also has a hat trick and a pair of assists. Both these teams are fighting hard, and it is nice to see two teams that just love the game whatever the score.  Final score, Franklin 13, Stanwood 0.  JJ Jackson made 12 saves on 25 shots without much help from a defense unsure when to slide.
