Sammamish Announces Head Coach, Blake Mitchell

September 25, 2006, Bellevue, WA.  Sammamish Boys Lacrosse Club announced today the appointment of Blake Mitchell as the head coach of the Club’s high school team.

Blake played lacrosse in his native Pennsylvania before attending Whittier College in California.  While at Whittier, Blake played on the NCAA Div. III men’s lacrosse team which was nationally ranked in 2001 to 2004.  Mitchell comes to Sammamish with several years of experience coaching with the Starz program in CA and in WA and with the Summer Adrenaline and Crease Monkeys Camps.   “We’re tremendously excited about having Blake on board with our program,” said Bill Cornell who is one of the Club’s board members.  “Experienced coaches are hard to come by in the Northwest so we count this as a win”  Cornell said.

Mitchell is looking forward to helping Sammamish build its new program.  “I’m looking forward for the opportunity to coach a new lacrosse program” said Mitchell. “ The chance for me to become involved in the lacrosse community in Seattle is great, and I’m anxious to be a part of its growth.”   In addition to his lacrosse activities, Mitchell intends to pursue his career as a teacher.
