Fort Lee, NJ - (March 1, 2006) - Wireless entertainment provider SkyZone Entertainment, Inc. today launched the first mobile lacrosse game, Brine Lacrosse, on Verizon Wireless Get It Now, Nextel, and Boost Mobile. - Choice of six league teams: Upstate, The Island, New England, Mid West, West Coast and B’More.
- Game stats show the relative strength or weakness of the teams playing.
- High score capabilities with the network high score easily viewable within two key strokes.
- Each game can be saved and re-started anytime.
Building gamer communities through mobile services and Brine Lacrosse
“We know from our experience of providing customer-led mobile services and building gamer communities that a mobile lacrosse game taps right into the growing demand for competitive entertainment and socialization on the move,” said Neil Haldar, SkyZone’s VP of Content Programming & Strategy. “We’re pleased that our early carrier partners also see the potential to drive volume through interactive games.”
Brine Lacrosse also features a networked high score contest "Face off for the Finals." SkyZone Entertainment will give away prizes to the top high scorers on the mobile game. The grand prize winner, the player with the highest score between March 15 and May 1, 2006, will receive twenty tickets to attend the 2006 NCAA Lacrosse finals. The winner will have unparallel views from a luxury box in Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. Second and third prize winners will receive lacrosse gear from Brine.
“I’m very excited that SkyZone is offering the Brine Lacrosse game. Sharing the game of lacrosse is very important to me and the cell phone game is a cool way to do it. Having Verizon distribute it will allow for a lot more people to have access to the game right from their phones,” said co-creator Mikey Powell. The game will be available starting March 1, 2006 on Verizon Wireless Get It Now, Nextel, and Boost Mobile. International carriers include Verizon Wireless Puerto Rico, Verizon Wireless Dominican Republic, Movistar Ecuador, nTelos, and Fido (Canada). More carriers will be added in time.
