Lynnwood vs. Snohomish Rematch - Recap

There is nothing more appropriate than a sunny day for a Lacrosse game between the two top teams in the Skagit Division, Lynnwood and Snohomish. The game had a playoff feel to it, evidenced by all of nervous and anxious players.

The first quarter started off very intense, with possession going back and forth until the 10:38 mark when Sam Ballenger scored a solo shot to put the Panthers on the board first. At the 9:07 mark Lynnwood even things up with a shot from Lynnwood Middie Zeke Evers on a nice feed from Casey Bloomquist. Lynnwood’s Bloomquist seemed to find his groove and scored two more goals in the first quarter making the score Tigers 3 and Panthers 1.

The second quarter started very physical and emotionally intense. Lynnwood Middie Alex Burns puts in a solo shot at 7:02 making the score 4-1. At the 6:30 mark Harrison Roulstone finds Andrew Ratzke who rings in the Panthers second goal. The game started to become a defensive battle, frustrating all the offensive shooters until Bloomquist of Lynnwood throws in his third goal of the half igniting a very excited Lynnwood Tigers team. Sean Girgus quickly followed at the 1:00 mark with a shot making the score 6-2 Lynnwood. The Tigers may have been ahead, however, the feel in the air was like that of a championship game.

The second half started out fast for the Panthers, as “Face-off Master”, Harrison Roulstone takes only 37 seconds to blister a shot past goaltender Brandon Selley, making the score 6-3 in favor of Lynnwood. The 3rd quarter ended with goals from Lynnwood's Curtis Wisser and the Panthers Jake Bos and Andrew Ratzke making the game 7-5.

As the 4th quarter started, there was a feel in the air of “Momentum Switch”. The Panthers played a very good possession game until the 10:26 mark when Casey Bloomquist shot and made his fourth goal of the game, making it 8-5 Lynnwood. The Panthers continued an aggressive defensive assault and a very good possession game which paid-off. Adam Desimone scored a solo shot at the 4:17 mark in the game making it 8-6. The Lynnwood defense continued to hold off the panthers despite being a man down twice. With about 10 seconds left in the game Harrison Roulstone feeds Andrew Ratzke who makes his 3rd goal of the game. Drama at its best unfolded, as Harrison Roulstone wins the face-off and runs the field to take a last second shot, however, he is denied by the stingy Lynnwood defense. Lynnwood wins a very exciting and well played game 8-7.
