"The Lynnwood goal for 2006 was to make it to the playoffs. We felt as if the Whatcom game was going to be our time to see where we stood," according to Tedd Girgus, Coach of the Lynnwood Tigers.
After a fast paced offensive run by Lynnwood in the first half, Senior Attackman Casey Bloomquist registered 6 goals and 2 assists. Sophomore Attackman Sean Girgus registered 3 goals and 5 assists. Girgus had this to say about his offensive firepower, "I believe with Curtis Wisser as our third Attackman, we may have one of the best attack lines in Division II. Our greatest weapon, however, was how hard our middies, led by Senior Alex Burns and Sophomore Kyton Blair worked on every ground ball. Hustle will always be our middle name" Girgus feels the Lynnwood Tigers embody “Blue Collar" Lacrosse”. Hard working and dedicated to every aspect of the game.
Sophomore Goalie Brandon Selley registered 8 saves in his first shutout with the help of a very stingy defense. Senior defenseman Luke St. Marie, Sophomore Defenseman Rob Love and Freshman Defenseman Glade Hall seemed to be an indomitable force.
Offensively, everything seemed to click perfectly. With the help of a very muddy home field, Lynnwood overwhelmed Whatcom 17-0. They may be on the path for the Division II state championships.
