Final Two DI Playoff Spots Up for Grabs Tonight!
After sorting out the rest of the division, three teams have tie records and tying head-to-head teams: Curtis, Maple Valley and Skyline. Though all three have equal records, there are only two spots left to head to the 8-team playoff bracket. Who will it be? Come see tonight at Issaquah 7pm!
This is the first time Washington has ever had to contend with a three-team play in game because of the number of teams involved, and that these teams are not all in the playoffs. In order to be inclusive and fair, the WHSBLA will not preclude teams from playoffs based on tie-breaker criteria. Rather, each team will play each other team in a round-robin decided on a coin flip at the beginning of the play in. Here are rules:
1) Each team will pay two halves, 1 half (2 - 12min qrts) against each of the other teams involved.
2) Coin flip will determine team that sits first. Each team flips coin, odd man sits first.
3) Winner of the first team can sit or play back to back halves.
4) Teams will be allotted a 15-minute warm-up/rest period between each mini-game.
5) If tied after 24 mins of play, teams will play sudden-victory (4 min periods) until tie is broken.
6) WINNER DECIDED BY BEST GOAL DIFFERENTIAL AT THE END OF PLAY IN.
For more info on this, check out the WHSBLA site for tie-breaker info and league info as well.
Vandals and Curtis come out on top.
Full game recaps of all 3 games will be posted shortly.
