Who's got the best Defense in the State?

And what is it that makes you stand out from the rest.

Bainbridge

I'm going to have to say Bainbridge has the best defense this year with their three starting sophmores and junior. They will most likely be a defensive power house for the next few seasons.

longest legs in the league

I really think that Caldwell has the longest legs in the league. Anyone else?

Issaquah has the best

Issaquah has the best defense by far!

Issaquah has the best

Issaquah has the best defense by far!

Spartan D

Fact: Bainbridge D is the best in state as of right now.

Any dispute? back up with scores.

I agree

BI has an amazing D team. Fist of all they have an all sophmore starting D team with an amazing freshman goalie Brice Stevenson then on top of that they have amazing LSM. Don't believe me just u wait and see

Your d is good but you

Your d is good but you exhausted a bunch of sophomore attackmen at Garfield. While i think you did an excellent job frustrating Hoffman and Snyder... im still not convinced that you have the best D all together in state in comparison to Issaquahs. Mainly because your young goalie just doesnt have the gametime experience that Johnson has.

Scoreboard...

Gotta go with you on this one. Holding the Garfield juggernaut to 4 points? Shutting out Snyder? How did they do that?

ive said this before, all anybody has to do against snider is shut him off. the past 2 years BI has played snider, they have shut him off and he has done nothing. im not sure why nobody else in the state can seem to do this, but this is a testament to BI having the best D in the state thanks to Dejon Hush

see thats the thing

Garfield had a great goalie and all but there D was slow on the slides. creating a small window. and with BI having power shooters it was just enough time to get a goal in. Although Garfield's goalie and some incredible saves.
But then there was snider who every one made out to me an incredible shooter. yet couldn't even score on a freshmen goalie, and this is only his second season at goalie.

BI's defense depends on

BI's defense depends on disrupting the flow of play in the first quarter to get the "O" on their heels. With such a young attack this usually works to "spook" the offense into making dumb plays like errant passes. This strategy worked perfectly against Garfield who simply couldnt get their rhythm started into a solid 14 or 23.

Interesting that your putting out snider... as he just put 3 goals up against perhaps the second best goalie in state... garrett for issaquah. One of which secured the V in overtime.

Issaquah have the best D

We have a better D than MI and Garfield.

Agree

I think the other Island might give you a run for the money, though. Bainbridge is looking tough, and what they did to Garfield was out of this world.

Im with this guy.

Im with this guy.

MI the best D?

Yeah right... if anything I would say that the MI defense has been untested. Thus far they have faced two young offenses with only one threat! Wait till you face an offense with multiple threats to consider... It seems as if the goalie situation is still a problem for MI. Anyone care to weigh on this?

uhh u serious?

if anything your team is 5 and 3, so basically if your not already, then sit down... don't talk the talk unless your teams pwning, and yours isnt~

Are you seriously challenging my abilities after my third game EVER as goalie? That is absolutely pathetic and overambitious! UNTESTED? MI's schedule is CLEARLY more difficult. If you'd open your mind rather than your ego you may've been able to realize these FACTS. Be careful...no one has seen our true potential.

Are you Serious?

Scoreboard. You talk a lot of smack for a sub .500 team. While you were busy playing the best D in the state, big bad Vashon put up a 10-spot on you.

Im pretty sure BI, Vashon,

Im pretty sure BI, Vashon, and Issaquah saw MI's potential, and then beat them. Are you saying that MI is saving their best for the playoffs (if they make it)?

I cant wait until you face

I cant wait until you face an offense that can actually put a shot on cage.

UPDATE

FACT: VASHON 10 MI 9
FACT: BI 5 MI 2

Vashon even put up 11 on Roosevelt! MI's D better step up and meet their "true potential" if they want to make playoffs. Or would that be too "overambitious"?

You need to know the facts.

All that are against MI are just being plain stupid. The facts are that parents complained to the coach and now everybody on the MI team has to play. Therefore, Ian (the coach) puts on the less experienced people on Defense and the more experienced people like Mahoney on offense. Yea I'm admitting that we dont have the best defense but what can you expect from a rookie goalie and three poorly experienced middy. If anyone was to go up against our D-poles there wouldn't be a need for a goalie since they can protect the goal so well.

parents?

you shouldnt justify your team having a sub-par year by blaming your parents. your coach should have the respect of the program and the maturity to play the kids that he wants to play, not the one the parents want. if you guys want to be the best team, then call a meeting, tell the kids to stop whining to their parents and lets see what you guys are truly made of. By the way your defense can be strong, but if you cant score more than the other team, you lose. take BI and vashon games for example. give it up

I thought it was kinda

I thought it was kinda normal for most programs to run a D line and an O line for their midfield?

MI really needs to stop talking

You guys will be in contention at the end of the season b/c o'hearn is going to work you to death, but please, don't talk when your team hasn't proven themselves to be a state title caliber team.

disregard

disregard

Mercer Island

Who else could it be. I think after the Bellevue game we made it pretty clear we're the best team.

MI in the butt

Who else could it be? how about Garfield's strong D that has only let in 5 goals in 3 games, dont be too cocky until you play all of the teams MI!

That's funny

3-0 is easy when you've not played a good team yet, the best has been Prep and that doesn't really count when their keeper is out with a broken thumb.

Come back and tell me how good your defense is when you've played a real game.

2-3?

2-3 is easy when you're not as good as you think you are.

first of all, MI youre 2-3,

first of all, MI youre 2-3, youre not allowed to talk until you win some more games, i think your talking has gotten you here in the first place. Letting Vashon score ten kind of hurts your standings as the best defense. Garfield's defense isn't that great, but Montoya definitely gives them a lot of help. Bainbridge, Issaquah, and Bellevue are looking like my top Ds.
