The second half belonged to the crease monkeys as well. They seemed to have fresh legs every shift and it showed with their transition game. They kept getting fast break after fast break and it they opened their lead to 9 with the score being 10-1 after the 3rd. Vancouver would get 2 more before the end of the game but the monkeys answered with another 5 to the final score of 13-3. Defense seemed to be the biggest key of the game. Vancouver’s defense allowed the Monkeys to take shot after shot with little or no pressure all day. The Monkeys were able to dance and score on the crease unabated as well as work the outside. The Monkeys defense were clearing the ball well and eating up the majority of the ground balls which lead to a lot of fast break opportunities.
