Men's B League Beat Week 10

5/13

This weekend only saw one game, Huron traveling to Portland to play a red hot Multnomah Team.

After battling with Soccer Moms because the city of Portland can’t seem to figure out how to look at a calendar before they schedule fields, the game was moved to Tigard High School. I would like to thank Huron for their understanding, I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

Now that we have that out of the way, back to the game action. Huron jumped out quickly to a 2-0 lead but thanks to Rob Huber, Nomah was able to tie it up. Multnomah had a great team effort once again, seeing goals by 7 different players with Rob Huber leading the way with 4 tallies.

Huron battled back from a 2 goal deficit in the 4^th to tie the game and send it to OT. But in overtime it was all Nomah, taking advantage of an early man-up situation to put them up by 2 going into the second overtime period. Nomah added another in the 2^nd OT to secure a 12-9 win and get their 6^th in a row.

Next weekend sees a full slate of action as the season winds to a close. A big game to watch will be Nomah and Bigfoot, these two rivals square off on Saturday. The weekend will also pair Crease Monkeys and Coopers, this game could help sort out the 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th spots going into the playoffs.

No big news this week.

The entire Multnomah Team – 12 goals from 7 different players to win their 6^th in a row.

6/20 – Multnomah @ Bigfoot

6/21 – Crease Monkeys at Coopers

As I sat back this past weekend and enjoyed some great lacrosse on TV I couldn’t help thinking about Duke and what may have been.

This case seems to be turning into one of the biggest blunders of our legal system since OJ murdered 2 people, errrr was found innocent and is still looking for the killer. In no means am I condoning the accused crimes, rape is one of the vilest crimes there is and if it truly happened the guilty need to be punished severely. But, if the accusations turn out to be erroneous someone has to answer for what happened to this team.

I have been in team sports for as long as I can remember and some of my past teammates and current are my closet friends and will always be. Team has been preached to me day in and day out for so long that it effects how I conduct my everyday life. I would do anything for my teammates, anything except cover for one or two people who made bad decisions and were going to keep me and my entire team from reaching a goal I have dreamed about since I started playing the sport. It is this reason and this alone why I feel that the only thing the members of this team are guilty of is having bad judgment in how they spend their off time.

Hope everyone has a great week and make sure to keep your stick in the box.
