Bellevue vs. Garfield Game Recap

At 8:30 Garfield gets a 1 minute penalty sending Bellevue into man-up. Bellevue cannot convert and Garfield kills the penalty. Bellevue keeps possession until driving getting a ward Garfield can't clear and Bellevue gets the ball with a 30 second advantage. Garfield fast breaks with Hoffman who shoots and turns it over. Bellevue defense seems tentative but gets possession and calls a timeout with 3:39 in the first quarter.

Bellevue gives up possession and Garfield clears to Snider who drives right to the cage to ring his second off two pipes. The score is Garfield 2-0 with 2:30 in the first quarter. With 20 seconds, Snider hits his hat trick left-handed top shelf. The score at the end of the first quarter is Garfield 3, Bellevue 0. Rohrbach starts with the ball in the second quarter, beats his defensemen and feeds Snider on the crease for number 4. Garfield earns a man-up with two unsuccessful shots. Garfield working some great transition. Garfield give Bellevue a man-up and their shot stopped by Schmidt, but Drew Nordstrom is on the crease to pick up the spare over Montoya's shoulder.

Bellevue started shooting with possession, Ben King feeds Jeff Spangler for a back door shot and score on Montoya who didn't get any help from his defense. The score is 4-2 with 5 minutes left. Garfield gets possession of face-off and fails to convert. Bellevue gets a man-up call when Garfield gets their fourth penalty and Garfield calls a time out as they Will be two men down for 30 seconds with 3:06 remaining. Garfield makes a shot saved by Spencer who comes out and works a beautiful clear only to be thrown away. Garfield gets possession and throws it away with 8:00 minutes in the quarter. Garfield moves the ball down to Rohrbach who takes Platt to the cage on a beautiful drive. With 6:51, the score is 5-3 Garfield. Hoffman brings the ball behind and drives his shorty hard on the crease to make it 6-3. 4 minutes left, and Garfield has recaptured the momentum. Garfield gets a 1-minute man-up opportunity when Snider hits Hoffman for another goal with 2 minutes left in the third quarter. At the end of three, 21 shots for Garfield, 10 shots for Bellevue. Garfield owned the 3rd and had no penalties. Face-offs 7-10 for Garfield. Hoffman drives the cage solo and is snuffed by Schmidt in a fabulous save. Bellevue has a couple of nice moves with the ball, and turns it over only to give Garfield the ball in EMO and Snider lights it up unassisted with a heater past Schmidt making the score 8-3 with 7 minutes left. With 4:30 left Bellevue tries to take advantage of their sixth man-up without a score, but cannot. Garfield now goes man-up with 2:37 left in the game which is spoiled immediately by Schmidt. Bellevue still has 31 seconds left on a penalty and Garfield has a one minute penalty so teams are even for 30, then Bellevue goes man-up for 30 seconds and cannot convert.
