Redmond/ Northshore game goalie stats: FYI

Yes John O has the "W" for the game, but Stuart had more saves (15 vs. 10) in the game.

Stuart

Redmond had a lot more quality shots in this game than Northshore. Most of Northshore's shots were right to Olin's stick or near there.

John Olin is a great goalie,

John Olin is a great goalie, no doubt. When he was a soph on Eastside in D1, he took more shots on goal than any goalie in all of D1.
Stuart Dransfield is great as well, and he's played a tougher schedule this year with exhibition games against MI and Issy.

There's lots of consideration in who is best

Exhibition games don't show up in the regular season stats, so you have to throw those out. Even if they did, "best goalie" is more than just who has the best stats. You need to look at who is best in the clutch, what kind of defense is in front of the goalie, was the game a blow out and the coach used that opportunity to put untested defenders in (resulting in more goals), who has better clears, who rallies his team, who frustrates his opponents with great saves...

There also a wide variance in who is keeping the stats. Some call anything close to net a shot and if the goalie gets it, a save. Some more properly only give a save if there is a chance of the ball going in for a score. If your scorekeeper is very liberal, they will mark down a lot more shots on goal than should be, resluting in a much better save percent.

All that said and done, I'd go with John Olin best of the bunch, with Stuart Dransfield a close second.

Stuart Dransfield is the

Stuart Dransfield is the best goalie in D2 period he has a 4.585 GAA and a 0.663 save percentage that is outstanding

Are you serious?

Of course you would say that since you're on Stuart's team. Olin, Dostie, and two others are all over 70% and Olin's got a better GAA plus a win in the head to head matchup.

John Olin

on Redmond is a great goalie, and the best in my opinion.

reason for these Choices

If you do not see your goalie here, don't worry, these are the best in D2!
They are in order of save % in a minumum of 4 games played, all ten are each teams main goalie, except for snohomish, who splits time between jones and danielson, but jones has had more shots against and a better %.
