Steve Panarelli: Defensive Demon on Lax, Life and Chest Sizes

Steve Panarelli is a stand out defenseman for both the NLL and MLL. He is a collegiate all-american and a National Champion from Syracuse University. Steve was in Seattle for the first time this summer working a Walax camp at The University of Washington. Walax got a few minutes with Steve as he was preparing to go to Training Camp in Boston.  Formerly playing for the Dragons and the Stealth, the Strong Island native moved it back to the East Coast after a year in the West.  Here is what he had to say:

Walax: Alright you played in Both..which league do you prefer?.. NLL? MLL?:
NLL

Walax:  why?
Guys take it more serious ..its more and intense..and you get paid more.

Walax: You lived in San Jose Ca this past year-since moving back to Farmingdale Long island- what is the one thing you miss on the west that you cannot find in the east?
Zach Heffner. No Z-la on the east coast. (Zach and Steve were former teammates for the San Jose Stealth. Z-la still resides in San Francisco)

Walax: Are you excited to play for the new expansion NLL team the Boston Blazers?
Yup! Training camp starts in a week..cant wait.

Walax: Best High School moment:
Winning the world title for the USA U19 Team and winning the Defensive Player of the Tournament

Walax: Best Colligate moment?
My Junior Year..the game after we lost at home to Hobart and fell to 1-4. We had to play a good top 5 ranked Cornell team that following Tuesday..and we won that game in the final minute and went on to win the rest of our games straight to the final the four. (Walax: I remember that moment as well because I was there..After the Hobart game Steve flipped out..and flipped and entire table full of food and dip in the locker room..His message was felt ..He then went on to score a pivotal coast to coast goal that following Tuesday in that must win at Cornell)

Walax: Current nickname you are rocking these days?
Got a couple in rotation.Boss, Boss Hogg, Pano, Gus.

Walax: Any weird or unusual dreams you have current or growing up?
Winning the strong man competition.

Walax: Ha! Nice..How big is your chest then?
Bigger than a Midwest chest but smaller than a Staten Island Chest.

Walax: What would you do first if you were president?
Paint the white house poles Red White and Green.[Italian Flag]

Steve currently resides in his hometown of Farmingdale Long Island NY. He is currently preparing for the NLL season for the new expansion team The Boston Blazers and working for The Lax Hut.
