Get Ready For The PNCLL Playoffs!

The 2006 Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League playoffs will be held this Saturday and Sunday, April 29th and 30th, at Tigard High School in Tigard, OR. Both Division A and Division B Semifinal games will take place on Saturday, with the first face-off beginning at 11AM when #4 Pacific Lutheran University takes on the #1 seed, University of Montana (Div. B). Games will continue throughout the afternoon, and the competitive day of Northwest lacrosse will be wrapped up with a banquet for all the teams at 5:30PM, also at Tigard High School.

The League Championships take place Sunday with the Division B Championship at 12:30PM followed by the Division A Championship at 3PM. The winner of each division is guaranteed a trip to Dallas, Texas for the USLIA National Tournament in two weeks.

The University of Oregon has taken the Division A Championship home the past two consecutive years and looks for a three-peat this year, while Gonzaga, Oregon State, and Simon Frasier fight for a chance to extend themselves into post-season play and upset a highly ranked Oregon squad. Much similar to Oregon’s situation is Division B University of Montana, who took home the title last year. The Grizzlies enter the tournament ranked #6 in the nation and undefeated in the PNCLL. PLU’s high scoring offense looks to upset the defending champions on Saturday, while Southern Oregon University and Western Washington match-up on the other side of the bracket.
This exciting weekend is hosted by the Tigard High School Varsity Boy’s Lacrosse team and is a fundraiser for their rising program.
