Now the schedules are out which games are you most looking forward to playing in. Which games did you think shouldn't have gone the way they did in 07 and which do you think will be different in 08?
eastlake vs skyline
why are you so quick to say eastlake will get destroyed? have they not easily handled you the past three times you played?
Props to Eastlake beating
Props to Eastlake beating Skyline 4 times. That is not being Overlooked; however, i truly believe Skyline was the better team last year. losing to a lousy 3 min non releasable Illegal stick penalty on a pole that Eastlake requested, in which Eastlake's man up scored 3 goals.
I wouldn't really call it
I wouldn't really call it getting easily handled when Eastlake won last year because Skyline basically played the fourth quarter two men down...
I like rivalries...
in division I, I like the potential state championship battle, Issaquah vs. Bainbridge. I also like MI vs. BI, for obvious reasons.
For some of the DII games, I like old DI match-ups Prep vs. Hale and some new ones, Northshore vs. Mukilteo
What is going to happen with the rest of Division I Lacrosse this year?
Eastlake vs Skyline.
Eastlake vs Skyline.
Eastlake is going to get
Eastlake is going to get destroyed in that game
HIgh School - Div 1 games to watch
The WA 2007 State Champion Rematch between MI and Bainbridge on April 11th is a given. With 3 All Americans graduating from these 2 team (Masi & Gilbreath from BI and Mahoney from MI) who'll step up to fill their shoes?
With Bellevue, Garfield, Issaquah and Vashon all within one game of each other going into the playoffs - match-ups between these teams should have a direct bearing on their end of season standings going into the playoffs
Key match-up to watch will be Garfiled at Issaquah on 4/21. Last year they tied for 4th place one game behind Bellevue. Issaquah lost to Garfiled in the playoffs. Garfield Seniors Caldwell Rohrbach and John Yesley had 92 points combined last year before being eliminated in the playoffs by State Champs Bainbridge. Reuniting at Issaquah for the first time in 2 years will be seniors Travis Wright and Nick Yaap which should help the purps put more points on the board.
Middle School Games to Watch - Eastside
The Premier Match up I'm interested in watching this year for Middle School "A" teams is Bellevue vs. Issaquah.
Bellevue - Last year, Bellevue's 7th Grade "B" team was very strong and early in the season was likely better than their 8th Grade "A" team. Sam Leggett, Emaan Jaberi, Sean Allen, Drew Douglas and Blake Samuels have been playing together year-round for several years. They know each other very well and this "shared experience" should make them VERY competitve.
Issaquah - Historically IYL has built 2 "A" level teams - one to feed Skyline HS and one to feed Issaquah HS. For 2008 the IYL "Issaquah" Team should be really strong. Midfileder Ben Director should be finally surrounded with quality support from Matt O'Neil, Duncan Hamilton, Kole Lindor and Dane Jonson.
Adding a little drama to this match-up will be Issy Goalkeeper O'Neil Hughes who converted from midfield last year. O'Neil works really hard on his game and may be the best 8th Grade Goalie in WA State. Ironically O'Neil plays winter LAX for the Seattle Starz MS Team. This team went to Maryland in November and ran the table only losing in the semi finals. Who were O'Neil's teammates? Bellevue's Jaberi, Douglas, Samuels, and Leggett.
Don't discount MI Black.
Don't discount MI Black. So, any game between these 3 middle school teams will be worth watching. All 3 have players who will be owning the HS ranks in the next 2-4 years.
