More extensive leagues

I was just curious, if anyone could shed some light on this or support my idea. But I was just wondering why there aren't more extensive lacrosse leagues. What I mean is why does starz not practice more then once a week? I know it's so players can play other sports but if you enjoyed it enough you'd want to play that much more. How come there isn't a movement to create year round lacrosse teams like soccer. I understand it couldn't be as large as soccer is but there's no reason to not push towards the idea, or is there already?
year round lacrosse
That is a bad idea because it forces kids not to play other sports, such as football if they want to do year round lax. The best athletes are gonna be multi-sport athletes, especially the football-lacrosse players, where the contact of football will make hitting a piece of cake come lacrosse season. Playing year round might develop a little more stick skills overall, but more overall athleticism can be developed by playing more than just one sport. Football, basketball, whatever- multiple sports help compliment each sport individually.
Year Round LAX
I hope we never get to the point where we have year round stuff like soccer. I think more often than not all that does is burn out and wear out the best prospects. I think their game is helped by not over doing it, and by playing other sports.
Kids don't need that level of specialization until college.
Sez you, but if you look
Sez you, but if you look around here the best plaqyers already do play year round. This is also true all obver the east coast. The best example of playing lax year round is in BC. Their club teams now regularly beat the best club teams from back east.
It should be available to our players who want to play year round, and specialization at a young age helps in the developmental process.
I guess it depends on your goal
If your goal is winning more youth games, it's a great idea.
If your goal is not about what is best for the kid’s health and development, again it's fine. There have been a number of studies recently showing the year round intense activity like premiere soccer requires wears out developing bodies (repetitive stress and motion), and burns out their attitudes as a general rule.
I think what Starz does is perfect. It lets the kids play year round while still keeping it fresh and fun.
but they don't
starz doesn't play year round... but also it may be nice if for like summer league or fall ball or indoor. There were set teams, not neccesairly that you practiced with but that you just played with consistently in those leagues. It also might just be nicer if they were better run or had more players.
