Eastside Catholic welcomes new head lacrosse coach
Sammamish, WA – Eastside Catholic has announced that Luke Christiansen will be joining Eastside Catholic as Head Coach for the boys lacrosse team and will teach Spanish in the World Languages Department. For the last two years, Christiansen has been the head lacrosse coach, Spanish instructor and college counselor at Camden Military Academy in South Carolina. Prior to Camden Military Academy, Christiansen served as the lacrosse defensive coordinator for Utah State University, where he coached three All-Conference defenders. Christiansen attended Southern Virginia University, where he played football and lacrosse and served as lacrosse team captain for three years.
"We're thrilled to bring Coach Christiansen into the Eastside Catholic family; we know he will continue to build on the great legacy and success of the Eastside Catholic lacrosse program," said Athletic Director Jeremy Thielbahr. “His character, integrity and core values will provide exemplary leadership for our boys lacrosse team and all Eastside Catholic students.”
"Eastside Catholic is a destination job, and I am thrilled to be joining the school,” Christiansen said. “Very few programs can match the school support, the community involvement and the quality student athletes present at EC. It's a rare opportunity to develop a program centered on the core values taught at Eastside Catholic. I'm excited to get to work."
Christiansen graduated from Southern Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. He has a Master of Science in sports management from Missouri Baptist University. Christiansen and his wife and their three children will be relocating to Sammamish from Camden, South Carolina.
