2012 defending state champion, Bellevue high school, and 2012 state quarter-finalist (and undefeated regular season holder) Issaquah high school, have both been selected to the Nike/US Lacrosse - West Region preseason boy's high school top ten list. Bellevue and Issaquah are the only teams from the Northwest on the list, as the remainder of teams selected hail fron Colorado and California. By Todd Karpovich.

1. La Costa Canyon (Calif.)

The Mavericks will look to defend their San Diego Section Division I championship. Key returners include Aaron Loy, who scored the game-winner in the final, and senior goalie Bryan Cooper.

2. Arapahoe (Colo.)

The Warriors surged to the Colorado state championship with an 8-4 victory over perennial power Cherry Creek. Arapahoe will shoot for its third title in five years.

3. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.)

In the past three seasons, three-time West Catholic Athletic League champ St. Ignatius has outscored opponents by a combined 526-119 margin. Long-stick midfielder Charlie Ford has committed to Georgetown.

4. Torrey Pines (Calif.)

After advancing to the CIF San Diego Section championship game, Torrey Pines will be led by goalie Jake Kennedy, who has committed Bucknell, and All-American Lucas Gradinger (Maryland).

5. Corona Del Mar (Calif.)

The Sea Kings capped an undefeated season by winning their first CIF Southern Section title with a 7-6 victory over Palos Verdes (Calif.). Corona del Mar will be led by seniors Casey Mix, Brett Nelson and Jack Ortlieb (Yale).

6. Cherry Creek (Colo.)

The Bruins look to avenge last season's loss in the state championship game to undefeated Arapahoe. Cherry Creek has been the area's dominant program and is in search of its 12th state title.

7. San Ramon Valley (Calif.)

The Wolves won the North Coast Section Division I title over perennial power De La Salle. San Ramon Valley will have to fill a scoring void left by two-time All-American Patrick Worstell and Michael Tagliaferri, now at North Carolina.

8. Palos Verdes (Calif.)

The Sea Kings suffered a heart-breaking 7-6 loss to Corona del Mar in the CIF championship game. Senior attackman Tony Romeri will try to get them back there.

9. Bellevue (Wash.)

After suffering consecutive one-goal losses two weeks into the season, the Wolverines reeled off 14 straight wins en route to its second state title in the three years and ninth since their inception in 1980.

10. Issaquah (Wash.)

The Eagles had a 19-game winning streak snapped by Kings Way Christian in the playoffs. Still, it was the best season in their history. Issaquah has the depth to challenge for a state title.
