This past week was full of intense games that came down to the wire. We saw some non-league games that featured some of the best teams in the region, and conference rivals that duked it out for 48 straight minutes. Here is the week in review…

Division 1 Notes:

- Our first ‘Game of the Week’ matchup saw talented Skyline and Bellevue squads battle it out until the end. The Wolverine’s Augie Fratt put up 3 goals as Belleuve edged out a 10-9 win to stay undefeated in conference.

- Lakeside survived a 3-goal outing from Korry Broderick to knock-off O’Dea in overtime, 7-6 on Thursday. The win put Lakeside in a tie with the Fighting Irish at 3rd place in the Metro Conference.

- Mercer Island and Woodinville faced-off in a battle of the unbeaten Saturday Night. The Islanders walked away with the 16-8 W moving them to 9-0 on the season.

- In our 2nd ‘Game of the Week,’ Issaquah beat a very talented Lincoln (OR) squad, 9-4 Saturday night. Mikey Giannopulos had 3 goals on the night for the Eagles.

Division II Notes:

- White River solidified their spot in 1st place in the SPSL Conference after squeaking by Auburn Riverside in overtime 7-6.

- Providence remains unbeaten on the season after shutting out Franklin, 16-0 on Thursday. The Highlanders had three players with 5-goal performances in the game.

- Vashon and Klahowya battled it out for the top-spot in the Olympic Conference on Wednesday. Ezra Ende had 6 goals in Vashon’s 14-11 victory.

Best Upcoming Match-ups:

- 4/7 – Bellevue @ Centennial (NV) – The Wolverines head down to Nevada to face state power, Centennial. Centennial has already faced Bainbridge and Skyline this season at the Northwest Invitational.

- 4/8 – Mercer Island @ Lakeland-Panas (NY) – The Islanders travel out east to test their talents against New York’s Lakeland-Panas HS.

- 4/10 – Everett at Burlington-Edison – Everett has allowed just 3 goals on the season. It’ll be interesting to see if the Everett D can continue it’s dominance against a solid Burlington-Edison squad.
