The Island War (MI vs BI) - VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS!

Two of the most storied programs in Washington lacrosse history met last Friday night on Bainbridge Island. Bainbridge played host to the Mercer Island Islanders, and in this edition of the classic matchup, Bainbridge found themselves as big underdogs.

They didn't let this rattle them, and with the classic upset recipe of zone defense, inverting shortsticks on offense, and playing with emotion, they were in the lead after one, ahead 3-2.

Unfortunately for the Spartans, Mercer Island found their normal pace, and trotted ahead to 7-3 at half. This then continued in the third, with Mercer stretching their lead to 11-5. The Islanders finished the game out 17-6.

Bainbridge will take the ferry to town and play Lakeside on Tuesday the 22nd, while Mercer Island's next action will be against Bothell-Inglemoor on Friday the 25th at home
