Committed Player Profile: Connor Campbell - Juanita

Every week this fall and winter, Walax.com will be profiling local NCAA committed lacrosse players and asking them different questions about their experience with the recruiting process, choosing the right school (i.e. size, location, academics, cost, competitive level, etc.) and what they think about the upcoming high school season. Stay tuned!

School: Juanita

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Marquette University

Walax: Why did you choose to attend Marquette?

CC: I chose Marquette for a few reasons. One being that it is a top business school. They also have a solid coaching staff and a solid outlook for the team in the future.

Walax: Other colleges considered?

CC: I considered Rutgers and Tampa

Walax: What're your thoughts on your upcoming 2016 season?

CC: For the upcoming season I look to lead my team to a state title and be the leading scorer in the state.

Walax: Any advice for younger players on the recruiting process?

CC: For younger players, you have to always play your hardest. You never know who is watching you and it is crucial at a young age to start getting out there and talking to the big programs.

Coaches Quote: Steve Lytle, head coach for Juanita HS - "In our little town we've all known that Connor was an amazing player with huge potential. What many don't know is how many hours he's put into his game. When he was in 5th & 6th grade, he used to finish a 2 hour practice in the rain, cold and mud. He'd go home, take off mud soaked cleats and put on rubber boots so he could put in one more hour of shooting in his yard in the dark. Freezing cold, but totally committed to getting better. As a coach, its that kind of dedication that drives all of us to work harder and keep building our program. We couldn't be more proud of him."
