Bellevue’s Riley Gulrajani committs to Dickinson College

BELLEVUE, Wash. – Bellevue High School senior Riley Gulrajani has committed to play collegiate lacrosse for NCAA Division III Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Gulrajani, a co-captain of the 2013 Washington state champion Wolverines squad, finished the spring with 44 ground balls in 23 games.

“(Dickinson) will not only provide a great education, but it has a great lacrosse program and the team is an awesome group of guys,” Gulrajani said on the Bellevue High School Boys Lacrosse Facebook page. “Some goals are to take advantage of the progressive education so that I can excel when I leave college and of course, win a Division III championship.”

Gulrajani, a defender, is one of three Bellevue High School student-athletes to commit to play NCAA lacrosse so far this fall. Senior midfielder Eric Haehl has committed to the University of Richmond, while senior attackman Hank Bethke has committed to The Ohio State University . Both are NCAA Division I lacrosse schools.

Following graduation, Gulrajani is expected to become the only west coast player on a Red Devils squad that advanced to the NCAA Div. III men’s lacrosse quarterfinals in 2013. Dickinson, which finished with a perfect 8-0 conference record, finished the season 18-1.

The Red Devils, who placed seven players on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American list in 2013, were ranked number-two in the nation for almost the entire season. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA National Championship twice in the past four seasons, capturing three consecutive Centennial Conference Championships. Its 2013 senior class posted a record of 65-10 over four seasons.
