“Game of the Week” recap:

Lakeside @ Eastside

The most competitive game of the week came down to the last 30 seconds as the Lakeside Lions held off Eastside for a 5-4 victory.  Eastside struggled most of the game and Lakeside controlled the tempo, dominating shots and groundballs.  Justin Patterson played big for Eastside in net and kept the score within reason.  Trailing 5-2 entering the 4th, Eastside somehow found life.  Suddenly they were winning more groundballs and getting more shots.  A couple goals and the score was 5-4 with a few minutes to go.  The crowd came to life attempting to rock the bleachers.  But, the Lions held off any attempt at a tie not allowing Eastside to even get off a final shot.  A little early season drama…made for a great game!!!
