August 22, 2002: Lacrosse in Hawaii? You bet, and nothing could be finer! For the 12th year in a row, the Hawaii Lacrosse Club will be hosting the best men's and women's lax tourney on earth over the weekend of November 2nd and 3rd. A number of men's and women's NW club players plan to attend this year playing for a number of different squads. Are you interested in playing?

NW Teams Participating:

• Roanoke Tavern - Matt Sauri is organizing a team of NW All-Stars to compete as the Roanoke Tavern All-Stars. The squad will be comprised of Top NW talent, with a sprinkling of players mixed from other parts unknown. If you are interested in trying out for the Roanoke Squad, send Matt an email at: [email protected]

• CreaseMonkey's JV - Matt Cone is organizing a team of a few NW players mixed with a number of MLL and NCAA all-stars who don't quite have what it takes to play for the CreaseMonkey Varsity squad. The Varsity team has won the tourney the past couple of years and honestly, probably has enough talent that it could have won the Lacrosse World Cup if it had the chance to enter. Matt has room for a couple select NW players, if you feel you have what it takes, send him an email at: [email protected]

• Corillian All-Stars - If there is enough interest to field a 3rd team of NW players from the A-Leagues and B-Leagues, walax.com will organize a third team to compete in the Men's open bracket as the Corillian All-Stars (already have these as uniforms). If interested, send email to: [email protected]

• Women's Team - If there is enough interest to field a women's team of NW players from the, walax.com will help organize a team to compete in the Women's open bracket. If interested, send email to: [email protected]

The cost?  Cost is pretty reasonable, roundtrip flights are about $400 to Honolulu that weekend, hotels are about $100 per night (can put 4 in a room) and the team fees are about $50 per person.
