So who wants to be a professional Lacrosse player? Well
several well known Seattle locals traveled down to the indoor
arena in Portland, to see if they could find a spot on the team.
Todd Thorpe, Ian O'hearn, Marc Bissel, and Erik Hewitt were among
some of the tryout participants.
Unlike the tryouts for either NLL teams on their arrival in
California, the Jax are very interested in making a team with
some local talent. Keenen, former Stealth GM, shed the
almost entirely Canadian roster for one composed with a diverse
player background. In fact, they chose 11 players from
their open tryouts.
If you are not familiar with local Lacrosse enthusiast, just
look around. He runs Breakaway Sports, plays for the Crease
Monkeys, and coaches the Mercer Island Lacrosse program!
Congratulations!!
The 11 players Keenan chose to invite back for a closer look
are:
They are:
1) Ben Sadler
2) Brandon McKinnon
3) Ian O'Hearn
4) Grant Poticky
5) Joel Cocarell
6) Martin Wright
7) Rob Collins
8) Aaron Bold
9) Shane Chalker
10) Danny Ernst
11) Jed Prossner
Training Camp starts in two weeks! Best wishes to Ian as he tries
for a spot on the Jax inaugural season roster!! There are
just over two months before the Jax first game, get out and catch
some action!! |
