| From the Rumor Mill, the
rumor was that Seattle Parks were going to put in Turf fields at
Magnuson Park. The city council in June 2004 passed a
compromise solution for Magnuson, what included 7 lighted, synthetic
fields and 2 other unlighted fields. The nine fields include 3 soccer,
1 rugby, and 4 baseball fields and one open rectangular grass field.
Lacrosse should be able to find some playing time on some of the
rectangular fields.
The problem now is getting the city to act on building the park as
planned. They have $13 million out of a possible cost of $60 million.
