Long time Official, Seattle Prep father of two Lacrosse players, and immense lacrosse supporter Eddie "the whistle" Travers traveled back to East Coast roots to officiate in the summer swelter.  In years past, this tounament has seen the likes of the immaculate season from Salibury State attend, and other teams of great talant.  Eddie shared this with us:

:It was an honor to represent WALOA at the recent Men's Lacrosse Tourney, "War At The Shore" where 34 teams of collegiate and post collegiate players engaged in some of the best lacrosse I have witnessed at this level in some time. This was the eleventh year for this Lax Fest held at Sea Girt, NJ., right off the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Your WALOA representative managed to do 8 games, 4 each day, including being chosen to do the final with Dave Seidman, head of USILA Mechanics, and John Kenny, who did the NCAA Final Game between Hopkins and Duke. I finally found a group of Lax enthusiasts  that understood my Brooklynese calls...!!!

Needless to say, in the heat and humidity, I was taxed to the max...but made the position calls when needed, especially in the creases that soon disappeared in the dirt and dust. If anybody is interested see me for details about being part of this great tourney next year."

Eddie is a member of WALOA, the Washington State Officials Association and takes his Officiating seriously.  Passing on his knowledge to newer officials is part of his charge, and he is always looking for a few good "whistles"...
