May 26, 2005 Milford, MA::  The Brine family just got a little bigger.  Brine is happy to announce the addition of Casey and Ryan Powell to Team Brine.  This unprecedented addition will place Casey and Ryan on a team that is currently led by younger brother Mikey Powell. Casey and Ryan are former Syracuse University standouts who have led the Orange to NCAA Division I titles and are currently dominating both Major League Lacrosse and National League Lacrosse playing for the Rochester Rattlers and the Anaheim Storm, respectively.  Both Powell's will be heavily involved in product research, development and marketing of Brines line of lacrosse equipment and apparel.

We are excited to have Casey and Ryan on board with Team Brine, said Mike Martin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  We know that to make the best equipment available we need to have input from the players that are consistently setting the standard on the field.  Their experience is invaluable and I look forward to seeing where they can help take Brine.

The Powell name is synonymous with lacrosse and much of that began when Casey brought his dominating skills to Syracuse University. Throughout Caseys storied career at Syracuse and with teams including the Rochester Knighthawks, Long Island Lizards, Rochester Rattlers, and the Anaheim Storm he has been a 2x
NCAA Player of the Year (1997 and 1998), 2x Attackman of the Year (1997, 1998), Syracuse University all-time leading scorer, 4x MLL All-Star, 2x NLL All-Star and the MLL Leading Scorer (2001, 2002). He has won an NCAA Championship, a World Championship, and an MLL Championship and has his designs set on rounding out his trophy case with an NLL Championship for Anaheim. Casey is a true champion for lacrosse and he has spent the last seven years traveling the world to promote lacrosse, he is Co-owner of Powell Brothers Lacrosse Camps and speaks at numerous lacrosse clinics and seminars.  Casey is also involved in a variety of charity and community events.

I am looking forward to working with Ryan and Mikey as well as the rest of Team Brine, said Casey Powell.  Brine is dedicated to raising the quality of equipment and technology needed to bring the game to whole new level.  I know that by working together we can help develop solid product.

Ryan Powell is considered one of the best field lacrosse players in the world today, his enthusiasm and passion for the game is evident every time he steps onto the field.  Ryans career has taken him from being a standout on the highly competitive battlefield of Syracuse University to becoming a record setter in the MLL and NLL.   Throughout Ryans remarkable career has been recognized through accolades such as; 4x NCAA American, 2000 NCAA Player of the Year, 2000 Attackmen of the Year, 2000 Division I Champion title, tied with brother Casey as SUs leading scorer, 3x MLL All Star, All Time Leading Scorer for Rochester Rattlers, 2001 MLL League Leading Scorer and league MVP.  It is not just Ryans accomplishments on the field that make him a true lacrosse professional, it is his consistent contributions back to the game that set him apart.  Ryan is co-owner of the Powell Brothers Camps and spends much of his time traveling to various lacrosse clinics every year.  In 2004 Ryan was assistant coach for Syracuse Universitys NCAA Division I Championship team.

I want to help Brine become the most dominant lacrosse company in the world by helping with the research and development of the equipment and apparel, said Ryan Powell.  Working with Brine gives me the opportunity to see kids play the great game of lacrosse and be more hands on with promoting and teaching the game. I look forward to promoting the game and seeing the popularity go to new heights.

Casey and Ryan have been major influences for me growing up, said Mikey Powell.  I really feel that the three of us working together will have a greater impact on growing the sport as well as reaching out to kids looking to find their game.
