| The inaugural 3rd/4th grade
lacrosse game in Washington took place Sunday afternoon with Mercer
Island and Bellevue squaring off to make local lacrosse history.
Players were in full gear and regular youth rules were applied for
this mach up. Both teams were successful on ground ball
pick-ups, making crisp passes, and physical play by both squads. The
game ended with a total of twelve goals being scored in a 6-6 tie. The
players battled through tough weather conditions to make the first of
many match ups between these two growing lacrosse programs a
successful one.
The primary focus of the 3rd/4th grade teams is learning the game,
playing on a team, and developing Lacrosse skills. Much smaller
emphasis is placed on winning, stats and scores. Both of these
programs are developing their young players into Lacrosse players with
a love for the game and sportsmanship.
