Issaquah Lacrosse Club Starts-Up New Team
A new lacrosse
team has formed in Issaquah with 26 players. The team was started by
lacrosse veterans Ben Cohen and Jordan Levy who recruited their
classmates. While a few of the teams members have played lacrosse
for years, many are picking up stick skills and game strategy fast
because they have played football, basketball or soccer. The Club
recruited a seasoned coaching team with Head Coach Norm Levy (former
Mercer Island JV coach and Rutgers Lacrosse) and Coaches Brandon
Fortier and Jordan Bayly (former Eastside coaches and Whittier
Lacrosse). The Issaquah School District provided the new club with
their middle school field for practice and home games. The team is
well supported by 24 parents who have set a goal to raise $10,000 for
uniforms, equipment, buses, and scholarships. The Issaquah Lacrosse
Club has received the New Start package from the U.S. Lacrosse
Washington Chapter providing 2 goals and 5 sets of sticks and gloves.
