The Summer Solstice Shootout - June 21st, 22nd & 23rd, 2013

Walax.com is proud to announce the First Annual Summer Solstice Shootout, to be held at the Starfire Sports Complex on Friday, June 21st, Saturday, June 22nd & Sunday, June 23rd! This year, the tournament is open to boys Varsity and Junior Varsity high school teams (no graduated seniors). Both the Varsity and JV divisions will have 16 teams each. Each team is guaranteed to play four games from Friday through Saturday, with the playoffs being held on Sunday.

The tournament teams will be split up into 4 brackets for round-robin play, with the 4 winners of each group advancing to the semi-finals on Sunday.  The games will be traditional tournament style with 25 minute running time halves, and a 5 minute half time-which should provide for plenty of lacrosse.

The tournament will also have a vendor village, with some truly spectacular lax swag available for purchase. The tournament has also blocked off a group of discounted hotel rooms at a local hotel, in order to make the tournament more available to out-of-town teams.

Some of the teams committed so far include:

Bainbridge High School – WA (Varsity & JV)

Bellevue High School – WA (Varsity & JV)

Issaquah High School – WA (Varsity & JV)

Lake Washington High School – WA (Varsity)

Mercer Island High School – WA (Varsity & JV)

Sammamish-Newport High School – WA (Varsity)

Skyline High School – WA (Varsity & JV)

Woodinville High School – WA (Varsity & JV)

Lakeridge High School – OR (Varsity & JV)
