Plainfield Park District to host FREE Lacrosse Clinic Sept. 10

The Plainfield Park District will host a FREE Lacrosse Clinic for ages 8-14 on Saturday, Sept. 10. The clinic will need place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Northwest Community Park, positioned on 127th St. just west of Rt. 30. The clinic is made to introduce the activity to new players and parents. All equipment is going to be furnished by New Wave Lacrosse. Participants should be pre-registered using program #43214A1.

Interested players are able to create the park district’s Fall Lacrosse League (program #43200A1). The league will run Sept. 14 - Oct. 22 at Northwest Community Park. Practices will need place on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Games will be played on Saturdays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Player fee is $150 for residents and $205 for non-residents. A practice/game jersey is roofed in the player fee. Rental equipment is going to be available through New Wave Lacrosse for the next $50 and includes helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, and stick.

Groups will likely be divided by age and ability. The league forever 8-10 will probably be instructional as the name indicated. The league for 11- and 12-year-olds will emphasize skills and mechanics plus the competitive side in the game. The league for 13- and 14-year-olds will not only emphasize skills, mechanics and competition, but in addition strategy and much more intricate areas of the overall game.
