With spring in the air, and Easter right around the corner, the first games of the 2015 season have been played! Although we’re just a couple weeks in, teams have begun to prove themselves on the field, and conference standings are starting to shape up.

Here are some of the latest headlines from the past couple of weeks!

Division 1 Notes:

- Kamiak has looked very impressive through their first 4 games, putting up at least 20 goals in all 4 bouts, and allowing just 9 goals thus far. Though their competition might not have been the stiffest, leading the state in goals is always an ensuring sign of a potent offense.

- Though early in the season, Eastside Catholic looks to have already found their groove, putting up a 5-1 record including wins against an always talented Palo Verde team from Nevada, and a very skilled Claremont team out of Canada.

- This past weekend, the Northwest Invitational was held out at Mercer Island High School, and as always, some of the best teams in the region were in attendance. Here are a couple stand-out outcomes from the event:

o Mercer Island started things off with a big win over Oregon power, Lakeridge, 12-10.

o Skyline is making big moves behind the scenes, posting a 4-1 record on the season (with an OT loss to Bellevue), including a win over a talented Centennial team from Nevada, 15-7.

Division II Notes:

- Providence has looked good thus far, posting a 4-0 overall record, including a W against a solid Juanita team to begin the season.

- So far, Gonzaga Prep is the leader out east, boasting a 4-0 record. They look to prove themselves even more as they head to Montana next to face Sentinel and state power, Hellgate.
