The Sunday Stroll - Finals Fever!

KingCo Craziness! This week, Bellevue bested Mercer Island by a goal. Their victory in this rivalry means Issaquah, Bellevue, and Mercer Island have each lost just one game this season, which should lead to a tiebreaker for placement at the end of the season, if each team wins out.

The week that was….

Lake Washington barely escaped the Newport Knights last Friday, entering the last minute of play down 3 goals. Not counting themselves out, the Kangs rattled off 3 consecutive goals to put it in to an extra frame, where they secured victory. This win allowed Lake Washington to keep their 5th playoff seed.

Metro Conference notes

Division 2 Seattle Academy made a statement for the strength of the Metro conference this week, traveling North to meet Sehome-Bellingham, a Wesco/NW Division 1 program, and dispatching them. Eastside Catholic continued their perfect season this week with a win against Lakeside. Even with an impressive performance by Lakeside sophomore goalie Isaac Kleisle-Murphy. who posted a whopping 27 saves on the night, Eastside found net 18 times.

Playoff seeding rundown by conference

Division 1

Wesco/NW

Sehome-Bellingham has 1st and will host whoever the third place finisher is in the SPSL. Everett is 2nd and will host Seattle Prep, a matchup they previously came out ahead in.

SPSL

Auburn Riverside or Tahoma will be first and earn a bye. Whoever comes out behind in that matchup will face Lake Washington. The third seed is still open to both Emerald Ridge-Puyallup and Curtis, and should come down to the wire. The third place team will face Sehome-Bellingham.

Metro

Eastside Catholic owns first and a bye, while Bainbridge has 2nd and will meet the loser of the Issaquah/Skyline game. #3 Seattle Prep will travel to Everett in the first round.

KingCo

First, second, and third are a tossup between Mercer Island, Bellevue and Issaquah for now. Skyline, with a victory over Issaquah, could enter the top 3. Skyline currently retains a strong hold on 4th while Lake Washington rounds out the field of KingCo contenders with the fifth seed.

Division 2

Eastern

Wenatchee has earned first, and will meet the 2nd seed from the metro conference, which will be either Nathan Hale or Overlake, depending on Hale's next game against Eastside Catholic. More interesting is the play-in game that will determine the 2nd seed from the conference, necessary because of a tie between University-CV and Gonzaga Prep.

Central/South

King's Way earned their way in to the first seed and a bye in the first round of the playoffs, while Camas awaits the winner of the Eastern Conference tiebreaker game.

Metro

Seattle Academy has been a source of D-II upsets over D-I teams, and their strong season has earned them a first round bye. Overlake and Nathan Hale are both potentially the 2nd seed, depending on Hale's game against Eastside Catholic this week.

Olympic -

Vashon has had a great season, winning in D-II and upsetting D-I opponents, and earned 1st place in their conference and a first round bye. Klahowya will be at home against Meadowdale by virtue of earning 2nd in conference, while 3rd ranked Peninsula will face Liberty in the first round.

Wesco/NW

Shorecrest has earned first and a bye, Stanwood has earned 2nd, and Meadowdale travels to Klahowya as third seed. Stanwood will have for an opponent the winner of Liberty vs Peninsula.
