Game of the week: Bellevue at Mercer Island preview‏

This Friday, May 9th, at 8:00pm, Bellevue travels to Mercer Island High School for the game of the week. DI-KingCo is a pressure cooker at the top! Last week, Mercer Island beat Issaquah by one goal. Issaquah, the week before, beat Bellevue by one goal. The top three teams in the conference this year, only separated by a few goals. This week, Bellevue finally meets Mercer Island, and all signs point to a great game.

One team features a NCAA committed player at each position on the field, while the other has... pretty much the same! Mercer Island has 6 players who have put up double-digit points this season, and so does Bellevue. Both teams are loaded with talent, are well coached, and are coming out of the mid-season looking very strong. Both have played very strong schedules and are relative strangers to losing. Bellevue has only fallen to Claremont of British Columbia, and in-state foe Issaquah, while Mercer has only lost to Wilton of Connecticut. Both teams play well in all aspects of the game, and the matchup looks pretty even!

This is one of the biggest lacrosse rivalries in the state. Bellevue has come out ahead in the last four games of the series. Mercer this season has scored 10 or more per game, while Bellevue has yet to give up more than 9. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues, We expect this to be another great installment in the story of this rivalry, and we hope to see you on Mercer Island this Friday!
