Game Preview: Issaquah vs Westlake (TX)

The Eagles of Issaquah will meet Westlake in Austin, Texas on Wednesday. Issaquah is a team that has progressively improved since the beginning of the season. Issaquah's only loss has come against Faith Lutheran of Las Vegas, NV. By all reports, this was not Issaquah's best game. Over the season, Coach Fortier's eagles have become a force in the half field game, with some of the most impressive off-ball play we have seen this year. Along with excellent faceoff play from Georgetown-committed senior Mikey Giannopolus, they have been able to leverage possession to excellent scoring opportunities. There are no real question marks on the field for Issaquah, the only question is how strong their opposition is.

Westlake, for their part, is known as one of the perenially best teams in the Austin area, and always competitive around the state. The Chapparals (Chapparal is a term for vegetation consisting chiefly of tangled shrubs and thorny bushes native to deserts) are last year's Texas Central district champions. According to Texas native Anthony Crimmins on insidelacrosse.com, despite losing a large group of talented seniors, Westlake is 9-5 on the season, and that most of their five losses have come against Texas North district opponents, meaning Dallas area teams, which tend to be the best in the state.

All in all, Issaquah should face a tough test, and we should be in store for a great game. Stay tuned to walax.com for updates. Any predictions for the game? Let us know on twitter - @walax!
