Lake Washington names Colin Crawford new Head Coach

The Lake Washington Lacrosse Club is pleased to announce the hiring of their new high school head coach and program director, Colin Crawford. Lake Washington is incredibly excited to have Colin join their coaching staff and lead the various LWLAX programs to great heights.

Colin has a storybook-like background in the sport. In high school, he played for the winningest high school lacrosse coach in US history (Mike Messere) and went 24-0 with his West Genesee teammates as a senior to capture the New York state championship in 1998, while being ranked as the best high school team in the United States. He then went on to play college lacrosse at Cornell, playing attack and midi during a 4 year career that saw Cornell reach the NCAA tournament in two of those years.

After college, Colin moved west and began a successful career as a commercial real estate executive for fast food chains such as Burger King, Popeye's and Panda Express - most recently serving as Chief Development Officer and Executive Director of Real Estate. While working full time, Colin still managed to find time to fuel his passion for the sport by serving as an assistant coach for various high school and college programs. From 2006 to 2021, he served as an assistant coach to local HS programs such as Skyline, Roosevelt, and Mercer Island. Colin also coached at Whittier College in Los Angeles. He most recently traveled to the east coast for a series of tournaments with Mercer Island's traveling summer team as its primary assistant coach during July of 2021.

Colin is now following his passion and becoming a teacher and lacrosse coach in the Lake Washington school district. Given his rich history of success on and off the field, the LW LAX board felt he would be the perfect person to build winning programs at Lake Washington for many years to come.
