2011 High School Championships: Regis Jesuit Wins Colorado State Title
Proving why they are the top team in the state, Regis Jesuit's second-half push, lead by junior Ryan Ball, helped stop Kent Denver's remarkable state championship run, as the Raiders took the title of Colorado State High School Champs with an 11-10 score.
It's a beautiful day for lacrosse at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colo., as No.1 ranked Regis Jesut looks to honor their state standings as they face off No.3 Kent Denver. The Sun Devils are riding a big upset over defending state champions, Cherry Creek, as the Raiders enter today's match-up with a win over Arpapahoe in the semifinals on Thursday, May 18.
Inter-Ac Invitational Semifinals - Malvern Prep (Pa.) 6, Penn Charter (Pa.) 4
RADNOR, PA—Sometimes a little familiarity works. Take the case of Malvern Prep’s third meeting with Penn Charter, for example. Philadelphia’s Inter-Academic League rivals met in the semifinal round of the Inter-Ac Invitational on Saturday at Cabrini College, and neither team you can say had anything to hide.
Inter-Ac Invitational Semifinals - Haverford (Pa.) 13, Lawrenceville (N.J.) 11
RADNOR, PA—Sometimes a good shove can be a good thing. It tests the mettle and wherewithal of great teams, special teams that show that they can come from behind and win. Teams like the 2011 Haverford School Fords, a team that has withstood every challenge presented this year.
Though Saturday at Cabrini College, it was a little different. The Fords’ defense at times was breached. Haverford School looked somewhat hesitant on offense. Lawrenceville School was giving the best team in the nation all it could handle, and was even leading in the third quarter.
