Officiate at Western States Tournament

This year's Western States Tournament will be held at Stanford University on April 8th & 9th. Save this date! Please fill out the enclosed form and send it to the Director of Officials, Linda Thayer. I will be working with Linda Thayer to make this tournament a great experience for all involved.

There are a few changes. The payment per game has been raised. Please look below to note the pay scale changes from last year to this year.

* Sheraton Palo Alto $99/night. Please contact the Sheraton Palo Alto @ 650.328.2800 and mention the Western States Tournament to receive tournament rates. There are only twenty rooms reserved so act early.

DIRECTIONS to the fields & CHECK-IN
Stanford University is 35 miles south of San Francisco and 20 miles north of San Jose

From Highway 101 North & South:
Take the Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. At El Camino Real, Embarcadero turns into Galvez Road as it enters the university. Stay in the left lane and continue toward the center of campus. Make a left onto Nelson Road. This dead-ends into a parking lot. Maloney Field is at the end of the parking lot. Check-in for the tournament is here.

From Highway 280 North & South:
Exit Sand Hill Road east toward Stanford. Continue east, turning right at the traffic light on Santa Cruz Avenue. Make an immediate left onto Junipero Serra Boulevard. Turn left at the second stoplight, Campus Drive East. Continue around Campus Drive East and make a right at Galvez Street. Turn right onto Nelson Road. Maloney Field is at the end of the parking lot. From El Camino Real:
Make either a right or a left onto Galvez (which is also Embarcadero). Stay in the left lane as you go onto campus. Make a left onto Nelson Road. Maloney Field is at the end of the parking lot. Check-in for the tournament is here.

Airports
San Francisco & San Jose Airports are both about 20-25 minutes from Stanford University.

PARKING
There will be no charge to park on campus during the tournament.

FORMAT
There are 6 divisions, each with 8 teams.
Each division has 2 brackets.
Round robin lay within each bracket will take place on Saturday, April 8th.
Semi-Final and Championship Games will take place on Sunday, April 9th.
Each team is guaranteed 4 tournament games total (3 on Saturday, 1 minimum on Sunday).
Games will consist of two 25-minute halves (running clock).
There will be a 5-minute half time, and teams will switch directions.
Games will begin on the hour and end at :55 minutes past the hour.
Games will start at 8:00am on Saturday, April 8th and 9:00am on Sunday, April 9th.
