Team Bio: LAXON was formed in the fall of 1994 by Julie Poland (Western
alum) and through the sponsorship of LAXON Lacrosse Outfitters (a now
defunct lacrosse store). It was the second club team established in
Seattle (Seattle Club was the first). The new team attracted UW and
Western WA University graduates, a few East coast transplants, and
several athletic newcomers. Due to the experience, athleticism, and
enthusiasm of the group, LAXON quickly became and remains one of the top
teams in the league. In April 1996, LAXON decided to test its skills
outside of Washington State and competed at the Western States
tournament in California. Additionally in the summer of 1996, several
LAXON players and some of our Canadian friends joined together to
compete at the Vail Shootout. Today LAXON, with the help of Alaska
Airlines, makes it annual mecca to the sunny Western States tournament
where the team is always a finals contender. We are always looking to
return to Vail to defend our rollerblading/whitewater rafting title.

Team Philosophy: LAXON was created and continues to grow due to our
love of lacrosse. Our team members enjoy cradling in the rain, setting
picks in the mud, and singing on the long drives to Walla Walla.
Several of our team members share their enthusiasm and talents by being
actively involved in the youth organization (NWSGLA) as coaches and
officials. Each summer since 1996, LAXON team members have also
organized a summer league for players of all ages and levels of
experience. LAXON always welcomes new players, both experienced and
unexperienced.
